Region 3 Div II:
When the playoffs began on the third weekend of November, it was clear that the fourth round would be West Orange-Stark's first tough test.
WO-S (13-0), the state's No. 4 Class 3A team, faces No. 1 Navasota (13-0) Friday in a game WO-S coach Cornel Thompson described earlier this week as what would likely determine the state championship in 3A Division II.
The winner of this game will still have two games to win before being crowned state champions, but Thompson's message was clear - a dominant WO-S team will likely find itself in a competitive battle, something that couldn't describe most of the Mustangs' games this season.
