Unbelievable halftime adjustment by EB. This loss by Refugio speaks loudly of the arrogant Coach Herring and that he was outcoached on this day. East Bernard Coach made the right adjustments at Halftime and never looked back. |

They're getting ripped on Facebook. I feel bad for the kids, but the coach deserves it. It looks like his philosophy was " either we win by 80 or we just give up." I feel a little bad for kids......but in all honesty this is exactly what the Dr ordered. When you do what they've been doing to people the last two years it becomes......'just a normal thing' to run it up on people and the kids.....& fANS as well come to expect it! They got a huge dose of their own medicine last night with EB going on a 54-9 run after the 1st qtr! And, along with this ass kicking they got, the EB coach basically called the dogs off late in the 4th when they went really vanilla after that last INT and didn't score again when I'm absolutely sure they could have! Congrat to Refugio on a great season and to East Bernard for stepping up their game and getting it done. EB will win state! |

EB by 14+ I saw EB and it was no fluke what they did to the #1 2a team in the state. They are very, very legit. Solid up front with some great skilled players and one QB that is flat out a stud who could be all-state 1st team at either QB or WR. They also are very solid on defense. When is the last time a team shut out Refugio for a half.......even in the 2nd half when Refugio had backups in for a quarter? |

Love seeing that Refugio got taken to the woodshed! What comes around goes around. Like I said, EB probably could have tacked another one on after that last INT but got conservative in play calling. Had the QB run the rock........EB goes into the 60s on the Bobcats IMO! What I love is the fact that Refugion coach was saying he felt this was a better team than last year!! Guess that just proves running up the scores on inferior opponents is NOT what it takes to win titles! Yes, that was the argument by one poster here and that poster said that until proven otherwise...............WELL IT'S BEEN PROVEN!  |

The humble pie must be very hard to swallow today at Refugio High. Feel for the rank and file kids, but a few of them took on the attitude of the coach and hence the team is not getting a bunch of love.
Wouldn't be surprised if Herring moves on. One of those things where he might say I've had enough of the BS down here (as he would see) and might take up another challenge?

They are in a pretty good District of 16-4A and Region 2. He would have no problem having a good District schedule with John Tyler and Corsicana. |

EB has a great team...I enjoyed watching that game with Clem. They had a fan to our right that was yelling "Run it up" the whole second half...it seemed fitting. Keri's son is one Hell of a player!
