Not sure how accurate this is as I'm going by Sinton Pirate Boys Hudl page but shows them winning 18 straight as the last loss was Nov 30th was last game before football was over. Think they're 18-3 with losses before full team. Thinking of driving 5hrs plus from Arlington to Port Lavaca Friday for that game, Sinton's district has Miller and West Oso that are state rank so they'll get tested pretty soon.

I went to watch Sinton girls varsity play Beeville last night and Beeville beat Sinton girls pretty good. Sinton girls team looked terrible.
I watched the Sinton boys play and it was tied most of the way to the half. Sinton got momentum after the half and got a double digit lead and then in the 4th quarter Beeville came back and ended up losing by 10 points. It was a tough game and Beeville boys did not go down without a fight.

I went and watched Sinton girls play Rockport last night and Sinton girls do not have much talent. Rockport girls won by about 40 points.
The Sinton boys fared much better in a tough game with Rockport and was winning going into the 4th quarter by about 10 points and then just gave the game away. Sinton boys made bad passes under the basket and kept turning the ball over with mistakes and lost to Rockport.

Some of their early victories include: 6a #4 Duncanville 6a Westlake 6a Summer Creek 6a Cypress Creek 5a College Station Aurora Colorado Grandview Colorado I went and watched the CP Lady TWolves Basketball team last night. This team is really special! Georgetown traveled well as they were the second place team in the district and ranked #10 in TX 5a. In early Jan, Gtown lost the first matchup by only 4 points at Georgetown. This was going to be a huge game for both squads. It was also Parents Night for CP. There were over 1000 people in the Gym seated and standing, and a huge student section being really loud.
CP Lady TWolves defeated Georgetown 50-24 and are the undefeated District Champions! They are currently 30-0, ranked #1 in Texas 5a, #2 Overall in TX, and #13 in the Nation!!!
Playoffs begin next week. Go Lady TWolves!!

'It's a great place to be': Vets coach Billy White Jr. has Eagles back to winning ways Rey Castillo Corpus Christi Caller Times
Veterans Memorial senior Aidan Guerra felt the Eagles had all the necessary pieces to compete for a district title last season. Instead, the team struggled at times, and ended up finishing fourth in a competitive District 29-5A. "We went through a lot last year," Guerra said. "Our team was close and we had a great bond, but things were tough sometimes." Vets won its bi-district game against Laredo Martin, but fell to McAllen Rowe in the area round. The Eagles began the offseason in need of a spark, and they got one in former coach Billy White Jr. White, who coached Veterans Memorial during the 2019-2020 season, was named head again after spending the 2020-2021 school year as the principal of Copperas Cove Junior High. "I know how special it was when I was here the first time," White said. "I knew the kids, the environment, the administration and it's a great place to be." Veterans Memorial's head boys basketball coach Billy White Jr, center, leads a practice, Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022. White spent more than 15 years at Copperas Cove, but when the opportunity to return to Corpus Christi presented itself, he quickly gained interest. White prayed about the decision and after getting the OK from his family, the choice to return to South Texas became simple. It was great there (Copperas Cove), but it's no where as fun as what I'm doing here at Vets with these kids and these coaches," White said. "When the opportunity presented itself, I wanted to make sure it was the right thing for not only me, but for my family and these kids." White's return and the addition of former Victoria West coach Pat Erskine, have proven to be the key ingredients in the Eagles' quest to their desired district title. The bond between the two coaches stretches back to White's playing days in Gonzales when Erskine coached him as a freshman during the 1997-1998 school year. White went on to play at Austin LBJ his sophomore and junior seasons before returning to Gonzales as a senior. "He (Erskine) was the guy that trusted me when I was a freshman in high school," White said. "For us to be able to reunite our relationship and work together every day is a blessing from God. I truly feel like this was a God-sent opportunity and for us to be here at this time with these kids is a great opportunity." Veterans Memorial's head boys basketball coach Billy White Jr, center, leads a practice, Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022. The Eagles have all the momentum ahead of the postseason after capturing 14 of their final 15 games to secure the District 29-5A crown. Vets (28-7) opens the playoffs against Rio Grande City at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Falfurrias. "I just wanted to make sure these guys got back to playing hard and having fun," White said. "I think sometimes as coaches we try to do too much to teach Xs and Os, and we get away from understanding these kids need to have fun. "That's one of the main things I try to make sure my teams do. Not only work hard, but play hard and make sure we're having fun while doing it." Senior Cameron De La Pena, who played for White as as sophomore, said the energy from White and the rest of the coaching staff is one of the main reasons the Eagles were able to win a district championship with the same group of players from last season. White said what stands out about this group is that every player genuinely likes each other and wants to see each other succeed. "The coaching staff all came together this year," De La Pena said. "I love coach White, coach Erskine, coach (Thomas) Garcia and coach (Charlie) Harris. We're all working hard together for one goal. We've all had a connection since we were little kids." Veterans Memorial's Cameron De La Pena, right, shoots the ball during practice, Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022. The Eagles are hoping to replicate the same playoff run from the 2016-2017 season when they advanced to the UIL Class 5A state tournament. It was the program's second year of existence and remains the Eagles' best season to date. "When coach White came in here, I knew what he could help us accomplish," Guerra said. "Coach Erskine also coming in and us coming together has gotten us ready for that. "It means a lot to win the district tittle, especially because this is what we've planned on from the beginning of the season. Now, we have to stay at it, keep our minds set and be ready for whatever comes next."
