west does have an elusive offense when they concentrate on getting the ball to #6 and #26 on screens, but still not enough firepower or offensive coordinator brains to get past cal d Cal's LB's and SS like screen passes and have picked off several. Coach Campbell coaches those boys and has them prepared week in and week out. Alice came at us with 4 screen passes and Coach Steinbruck had our boys in the right place every time. You have to go deep a few times before that screen is effective.

And we will go deep ho.do.u the nk those screen passes worked on plc the DB's were lined up10-12 yards off the ball... gotta have a head start to keep up with those speedsters... Imo we have a good chance because we will start out wth good field position because y'all will not kick deep but squib kick to the sidelines y'all won't kick deep to #26 girdy he's averaging almost 50 yards on ko return so I like our chances

Our DE's are the ones who sniffed out the screen passes and not the DB's, but Alice went to the screens before the long ball so our guys didn't get fooled into rushing too hard. I'm not sure about Calallen, but we kick the ball out of the endzone a lot so you would have the ball at the 25. If you have a kid that good at returns, I would kick an onside kick every time. The statistics are in your favor that way and if you make it past the first line of defense, you come out with better field position anyway. Maybe ol Danaher will take a page out of the River Boat Gamblers special teams playbook. Now FB did have some success through the air on Calallen and we also had about 5 dropped passes that didn't help our situation. I think they have made some changes in their secondary since our game though just like we have made several changes in our personnel. They are tough so be prepared.

I think Calallen will score in the 30's and VW around 14. If we follow the pattern of our on again and off again offense, we should be "on" this Friday. Plus a cold front will be coming in before or during the game according to Dead Wrong Dale and Bombed Out Bill which could mess with the passing game if it is real windy.

Schieble should be back at QB this Friday. He played most of the TM game but re-injured his ankle and did not practice at all before the GP game. He has been practicing this week so this will be the third game in a row with the same QB. Hopefully that will help eliminate the woes of the Cal offence.

West has speed Galore....they have region three type speed, but aremt physical on defense and cant run up the.middle.
West should win this game, however, tradition carries Calallen to victory ,that and Calallen will take away the outside and force them to beat them inside, and they arent capable of doing so
