Biggest game of the week in 30 4-A barring an upset.

This one was billed as great D vs. Great O before this week. What changed and what is the scouting report now? All eyes will be on this game this week. I believe that if Cal's D contains the Biz, then it becomes "can Cal's O score on GP's D". If Cal's O truly has improved then Cal should win. Problem is did Cal's O look good against TM ONLY because they had 2 weeks to prep for TM and then they resort back to old habits?? I guess all this will be answered this Friday night. Good luck to both teams...

Calallen defense has been solid and consistent all year so far. Hopefully gp will use the same offensive gameplan they used against PLC this week. It's easy to be multi-dimensional offensively against weak defenses, but you all saw what gp went to when things got tough. If the Calallen offense has truly found themselves, I predict a 4-5 touchdown Calallen win. If the offense falters again, I look for a 1-3 td Calallen win. I feel the only way gp wins is if Calallen's offense gives it to them with multiple turnovers.

And just what was the lesson to learn on Friday, 10/12/2012? Plc is really good. But I already knew that, I predicted Plc to win just not by that much.

Gp's defense needs to hit and wrap up. Run through the tackle. Stop leaving there feet, and arm tackling. Meet the ball carrier with your body. Fundamentals. We can hit no doubt but finish the tackle

This should be a great game with playoff implications. The winner, in all likelihood, should wrap up second place in District 30-4A and pretty much clinch a playoff spot. The loser will have its work cut out to get one of the last 2 spots. I was a little surprised that our defense didn't do a better job against Calhoun, which worries me coming into this game. Our offense did move the ball against the Crabs, but just couldn't finish on several drives. Big question is whether or not our starting QB is going to play or not. We didn't have much of a passing game vs Calhoun, and to compete with the better teams like Calhoun & Calallen, we're going to have to throw the ball. That will open up our offense, so we don't have to depend on #4 as much as we did vs Calhoun. If we have our starting QB back, then I think we can win this game. Without him, it's up in the air. Our #2 can do the job, but we do need our #1 back in there to make our passing game more formidable and give Bisby a break from carrying the load. Still, too early to tell. We'll find out more later in the week. Additionally, the health of Erwin is also a question mark. He is still recovering from an injury vs East. We really missed him vs PLC. He's our defensive leader and it really hurt us not having him vs Calhoun. Hopefully, he'll be back for this game. But, for right now, without our #1 QB and Erwin, I believe C5 wins in a close game. With our #1 QB & Erwin, I believe G-P wins in a close game. Our advantage at home is our sandy, lumpy field that C5 complained about in their last trip to Portland in 2010, a 13-9 G-P win. Both teams will come out pumped up for a W! Should be a great ball game!

And just what was the lesson to learn on Friday, 10/12/2012? We learned that PLC is a damn good football team and that our D needs a lot of work. We also learned that it's hard to win a game against a quality opponent without your starting QB and your best defensive player. Could Flour Bluff beat Calallen or Calhoun without Mims or their best defensive player? I seriously doubt it!

Anybody want to post videos of runningbacks so we can all critique the running style?
