@ Buc Stadium. Does Cibolo Steele crowd travel well? Wonder how many will make the trip to CC? King should put up a good fight.

yo clem you makin the trip down to the coast........king is going to put a whippin on you all........ Hey buddy, we are not going to make this trip. We have our Alabama hunters headed to my buddy's ranch as I type this. I absolutely hate missing out on a trip to CC to watch our boys but this group of hunters is awesome & a ton of fun. They tip pretty good too! LOL I am here to tell you this will not be near as big of a blowout as most think. As soon as Jinks gets a lead of 2-3 TDs he will start subbing. The only way this one gets to 5 TDs difference is if our backups do it. We've got a ton of dined up kids, two starters lost for season and he will get em out quick to try and save more injuries. Steele 42-21

CCV, we usually travel pretty well but for this game I wouldn't expect us to bring more than 1500 or so unless some people are going to make a weekend out of it at the coast. If this game was against one of the 4a powers from the coastal bend I'd expect us to bring 3000+. Our fans are pretty in tuned with who we are playing and know if it'll be a good game or not and travel accordingly so to speak. By the way, I watched some film on King against FB, SV, and Moody. The left handed QB throws the ball pretty good. They have a couple kids with some size but not very big at all for a 5a team IMO. Their speed looks to be pretty average although the one RB is nice. He has good vision, nice lateral movement, and is fairly quick. I did see FB get after em pretty good on a few plays and SV flat out knocked the snot out of that QB a few times! I think our D will handle them alright but where I think we will dominate them is offensively. I don't think their D will be able to hang with our big O-line and they are going to struggle with our speed quite a bit.

Clem,
That's what I like about the Steele program. They are hard nosed but respectfull when they know they have a team handled. Jinks will almost always pull his starters and give the backups experience. We played a team last week that left their starters in almost the entire game, (even with our 2nds and 3rds in due to so many injuries to starters) starting QB's played till last down, and game was well in hand by them.
I know that one would argue that the kids need to be in shape for playoffs but I would argue against that. I would rather have healthy kids for a good playoff run.
Steele is a first class program all the way!

I know that one would argue that the kids need to be in shape for playoffs but I would argue against that. I would rather have healthy kids for a good playoff run. Steele is a first class program all the way! Thanks for the compliments bro. Yes, Jinks is hands down one of the classiest guys you'll ever meet both on the field and off. He will tell his kids to knock the other team on their A$$ as hard as they can but be very respectful while doing it. He does not put up with any BS for sure. He believes in building depth and plays a ton of young kids whenever he can! I heard two, maybe more freshman have been moved up this week and will see the field against King if we get a lead. This, IMO, is huge in building a program that will contend year after year! Yes, we have graduated some tremendous players these last two seasons but we continue to do well simply because he 'builds' these young athletes into football players. Hell, our RB started all 16 games as a soph, played in the last 11 games of the 2010 championship team's run including performing well in the title game so he had played in 27 games before taking his first handoff this year, his JR year! I do not believe in keeping starters in the game if you know you have the other team beat and outmanned! Yes, they need work and you'd like them to get at least 2 quarters but sometimes it is better to get the backups reps! Heck, if you have a team outmanned, wouldn't the work they get in practice against your own offense or defense be just as benificial...maybe more? I can see leaving some starters in the game if they need the work such as young sophomores and such. We have a 6'2" 296 lb soph lineman that has started all the games and I've noticed that Jinks has left him in the games almost the entire way when all other offensive starters are out and I believe that is simply because the young man needs the reps to get better. I do not believe in running up the score or individual stats that is for sure. I know some will argue with this but IMO if you are beating a team that easily you are better off getting younguns reps and getting the work in for your starters in practice the next week. Good luck to your boys man. I am pulling for you guys in 27. Hope you get some of the injured back and can make a run. We know the feeling as we've a ton of them dinged up as well and two out for the year.

I told you CC_V that it wouldn't get too far out of hand. As soon as Jinks beleives he has a team beaten he subs..........& subs a bunch! I think he'll continue to do this on offense to try and limit the number of points we score but I'd sure like to see him keep our front 7 on D with the exception of one SR D-lineman in the game at least 3 quarters to give them plenty of work. Our two JR DEs have really come a long ways in the first 7 games as have the new LBs but I'd like to see them get more reps.
Our offense is explosive and will score points........our defense will decide how far we can go this year though and I'm starting to like what I'm seeing. If we'd not lost Huhn we'd be Hell to deal with I can tell you that!
