It is nice for our kids to be ranked #3 in week 4......but I'd much rather see them #3 after 15 weeks of games!

SCBK, it is nice to see your team's name there but in all reality....it is just a big target that means absolutely nothing at all. All that matters is to win the playoff games and be one of the last two standind and play for the big trophy. And, if you win it then it don't really make a bit of difference where anybody wants to 'rank you'!

I know it's just a useless poll but it feels good to have a team nearby that is #3 in the state.

Only asking because it is easier to ask folks that already know than to go look it up. Has SC won a state championship? I honestly do not know.

Should've won in '99 (gave up a TD against PNG in the semis), and '06 (lots of mistakes against LM also in the semis). Also made it to the semis in '03 (lost to Katy).

Should've won in '99 (gave up a TD against PNG in the semis), and '06 (lots of mistakes against LM also in the semis). Also made it to the semis in '03 (lost to Katy). That 99 team was a good 4a team but PNG was handled the next week by Stephenville in the finals fairly easily. However, I really think SC would have matched up much better against the Yellowjackets then what PNG did as we had a great running game and PNG was able to move the ball on the ground against them. IMO, the 06 SC team was completely dominant and had one of the two best defenses I've seen come out of SA...the other being the 95' 16-0 Roosevelt Rough Riders. SC held LaMarque to 63 total yards and 3 first downs while our offense and special teams handed them the win in the semis with 5 or 6 TOs, 4 of which were complete gifts! LM destroyed Waco in the finals the next week in D2 while AH beat Cove in the D1 final. SC also lost in a tough game in 03' (5a) to Katy in the semis and Katy ended up beating SLC for the title the next week. That was SLC's lone loss in a 74 game, 4 year run.
