Halftime La Marque 21 RLC 14
La Marque is still sloppy like last week. The QB has dropped the ball at least 10 times. A bunch of penalties as well. Three False Starts in a row.
RLC is a very small 4A. La Marque has more suited up.

Coogs claw Lamar Consolidatedgalvestondailynews.com/story/349006ROSENBERG — It didn’t take the La Marque offense long to silence the critics Thursday night. To avenge last week’s overtime loss to Coldspring, the Cougars scored on a 65-yard passing touchdown on their first offensive play of the game and went on to beat Lamar Consolidated, 39-14, in Rosenberg. “Coog Nation can relax,” La Marque coach Mike Jackson said. “Nobody wants to hear this, but this young offense needs five games to work the kinks out. We’re working hard to get where we’re going, and it’s time to let these kids play some football.” Senior quarterback Demun Mercer found sophomore Demetrius James on that opening strike, but the Cougars (3-1) led the Mustangs (2-2) by just one score at halftime, 21-14. Mercer scored on a 2-yard keeper to keep the Cougars up in the second quarter, and sophomore running back Ladarrian Ellis-Jones’ first score of the night put La Marque up, 21-14, at the break. Mercer put La Marque up by two scores in the third quarter with another touchdown run, and the Cougars kept pounding it into the end zone to put it away in the second half. Mercer finished 6-of-14 passing for 132 yards and one touchdown. He rushed for 48 yards and two scores. Ellis-Jones had 110 rushing yards on 21 carries. La Marque hosts St. Pius X for homecoming Sept. 28.
