Big time rivalry no matter if Texas City and La Marque are no longer in the same District or Classification. Texas City dominated weak 5A Dickinson in Zero Week. La Marque sloppily dominated very weak 4A Galveston Ball in Zero Week. Texas City has a lot of returning players, but a new Head Coach (former 3A West Columbia HC). I have been a part-time La Marque supporter while working up here the past 6 years. I really like La Marque's team speed, especially on Defense. The sloppiness and lack of discipline have done them in the past two years from winning a State Championship. I give a very slight edge to Texas City due to the game at Stingaree Stadium tonight. These are the only two teams to win a State Championship in the same year and from the same District. 1997: Texas City was 4A DI State Champion and La Marque was 4A DII State Champion. Texas City won District 24-4A and beat La Marque 28-12. Now that is Texas High School Football history at it's best!

Your statements have some truth to them..... So whats your predicted score then? La Marque 21 Texas City 28 I could see that as a strong possibility... I know this year it's TC with the more experienced offense, but La marque's defense still gives even the highest ranked 4a and 5a teams fits, regardless of being 3a or not. So i'm just optimistic that it will be enough... The problem is going to be if the offense cant turn those stops into points and gives the ball right back to TC.. My prediction is that LM wins by one score... whether it be by 1, 3, or 7 depends on how efficient the offense looks tonight.

Your statements have some truth to them..... So whats your predicted score then? La Marque 21 Texas City 28 Final Score: LM 34 TC 21 this must be a shocker to you.... I had a good feeling we would win but i wasnt expecting such a domination.. the score was 28 to 7 going into the 4th quarter, then because of the silly penalities by la marque, Texas City was able to close the gap an inch.

Heard good stuff about TC this season and thought they would be to much for LM to handle, but looks like LM is going to be a team 3a teams are not going to want to face once the playoff starts. Congrats on a good win.

Yeah, La marque is showing it has the talent and skills to compete with just about anyone... But the discipline that they displayed through out this game was unacceptable as a no. 1 ranked team... I'm hoping the reasoning behind all the emotions was because it was a big rivalry and that this isnt what we should expect to see every friday.... Had La marque showed more discipline the score would a been more along the lines of.... LM - 42 TC - 14

La Marque is still dominating even with the mistakes they are making. That La Marque Defense is fast and quick to collapse on the ball. Texas City kept it close and then La Marque buckled down on D and took the game over. Good game coming up this week with 3A Region III 2010 State Finalist, Coldspring-Oakhurst. Good luck to the Coogs!

I'm not too worried about our Defense. Galveston Daily News called it one of the top 5 defenses in 3a...... we just called it BLACK MABB TAKE OVER !
