So what did we learn? Better than expected or about the same?

I would say better than expected on offense. The D was nonexistent in the first half. Miller is all Clay. He has a couple of good receivers, but when he has the rock, anything can happen. Martin's O reminded me a lot of Rio Grande City absent the bruiser fullback. Occnh was there for the second half and said the D tightened up a bit.

I know Clay has turf toe but didn't know how much it would slow him down or how bad it was.

The paper gave him 336 passing and rushing and I would add at least another 150 return yards. He didn't appear to be hurting at all. Miller's only flaw in their attack was not letting Clay get 100% of the carries.

The defense needed to be as ferocious as they were vs Del Rio back in their scrimmage. This game sounded like they knew they were facing a lesser opponent than their usual 5a counterparts so some players must of laid back and checked how this team was. They need to wake up and make them believe these Corpus teams are state ranked. DC needs to sharpen the edges lol

Martin looked good, but it's hard to determine how good. Miller got whipped badly by T-M...a small 4A school of around 1,000 students. I just hope that Flour Bluff won't be too less of an opponent than Martin is used to. I'd hate not to give your guys a good look.

Laredo's radio broadcast schedule for tonight.
Nixon vs Cigarroa - KHOY 88.1 FM - 7:30pm(5a game United vs United South - KLNT 1490 AM - 7:25pm) So how bad will Nixon beat Cigarroa? Will Nixon pull back on the throttle after getting a big lead? Or will Nixon do a "Refugio" on Cigarroa?

So what did we learn? Better than expected or about the same? Martin has two good athletes on offense and a big tight end that also plays DE. Clay would take off and the Martin defense looked like it was standing still. Miller's defense isn't much and most of the teams will score on them. Stop Clay you stop Miller. Martin shows they can run or pass but not very fast. Well coached and the only TO for them was because of second effort on 4th down.

Last week they inserted the 2nd string with still 6 or 7 minutes left in the 3rd qtr. Especially since we have CC Ray next week. And score wise i'll say something like 42-13.

Nah yea way more weapons on offense and better/faster athletes on defense. Easy question to answer.
