Yup
Steele has a girl B-ball player that will be a Jr. She committed to Baylor while in 8th grade. I did some asking around when it happened and was told by a couple of different people within the district that the colleges are allowed to talk to them while in MS and the kids can commit but once they enter HS then they cannot be contacted until their Jr year. Not sure how accurate that is but that is what I was told.

This seems so dumb to me. I read about UT offering an incoming 8th grader who is barely playing football at the jr. high level, yet alone high school. At 9th grade kids are officially college prospects for NCAA purposes for football. In 8th grade your too busy getting wood when a strong wind blows by to think about college ball. Are your grades right? Are you gonna like the sport? Will you turn into a slob or just suck??? To me and as serious as I am about sports/football, it just seems like a publicity stunt since by the time that boy reaches graduation the coach who offered might not even be there anymore. I'ts like a meaningless pat on the back from the hottest girl on campus...nice but I'd rather get a lap dance.
