To all of our veterans, (and active military) thank you for your service. To those who lost loved ones in any war, but especially recently, my thoughts and prayers will be with you today as you remember your loved one.
On a personal note, I would like to honor my uncle, Raymond Hoagland, who died in WWII on D-day. I never knew him as he died 14 years before I was born, yet I feel a bond with him and think of him whenever I hear the national anthem. His brother, my Uncle Harold, was my very favorite Uncle. I often wonder what it would have been like to have another Uncle to look up to.
God bless and keep our troops this day.

Rest in peace all those who made the ultimate sacrifice. You did not die in vain and are remembered. Most of the veterans I know don't talk about the serious side that much. Mostly we just retell stories about the funny or crazy things we did and there are plenty of those. On this special day of remembrance however as we paused in our round of golf on board NAS CC to stand at attention when the national anthem was played we stood a little taller and reflected a little deeper about those no longer with us. God rest your souls.

Today is a day of remembrance for all of our fallen heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice in defending our American freedoms. Having family and friends that paid the utlimate price for our country this is a special day for me. I served with some of the most dedicated Americans in my 22-year Army career. My wife is an Army Veteran as well. I am proud to be an American.
