I would expect it to be Carter vs Saenz as both teams want that important first game. Saenz because Moody will be at home and hes their ace. Carter because he rises to the occasion really well. If that happens I look for a pitchers duel for four or five innings then Carter to come out on top as he has shown he can go the distance while Saenz runs out of gas at five. Saenz pitched Saturday and Carter pitched Friday so he has an extra days rest also. I think it's really important in this game for FB to make the pitcher work and run up the pitch count.

I am goin to try and make the first game the other two i will be busy(goin fishing friday and saturday Well lucky you! I'll be waiting on the fish fry invite! Saenz will be prepared...the kid runs about 4 miles a day and stays after practice to get more work in. He keeps the ball low in the zone. Our hitters need to concentrate on driving those low outside pitches to the opposite field. We need to abandon the small ball game early and try to steal second instead of bunting our guys over. We've left a lot of kids stranded because we could have used that sacrifice out back. Saenz has a good move to first, but if our runners play the game right, they can get a good jump. I always coached my kids to take a very big lead on the first pitch with every intention of diving back...i.e. make him come to first. On the next one, stay close to the base and let him think he scared you...and then time your jump right. There is a point where that pitcher has made his mind up to go and there is no turning back.

Amen to the too many sac bunt outs give aways. How many times has the top of the order come to bat with two outs? Way too many is the answer.

Moody is being strangely quiet. Check the CT comments after the schedule story. Nada.
