I couldn't agree more. but unfortunately that's how it is and I don't foresee that changing anytime soon. I think all we can do is give your boys a hardy congrats a pat on the back and hope the basic fundamentals of the game that translate into real were instilled deep in them and that they are better for it. We are trying to teach my daughter right now about winning and losing we tell her it's ok if you lose it's how you respond to it that makes you a winner. great season for the cats. good job on your accomplishments and lets see ya again next year and maybe a little more bluff in the later rounds of the playoffs would be nice to see next year also. The THBCA should be ashamed of themselves for this garbage. I wouldn't call it garbage. "garbage" would insinuate that the kids on this list are undeserving of the praise they received. Try saying congrats to the people that made this list and add I think the talent this year was so great that it may have left out two very talented and deserving Cal players who have demonstrated the top notch skills to be able to have made this list.

[So the Caller now releases a NEW All-State team: Twenty-five Coastal Bend players were named all-state by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association.
Calallen led the way six all-state selections, including two first-teamers. Junior pitcher Wyatt Mathisen and senior first baseman Tanner Vandevere both made first-team all-state in Class 4A. The Wildcats’ senior catcher Chad Vanaman, junior outfielder Tyler Neslony, junior pitcher Armando Arevalo and sophomore outfielder Preston Dorsey all made second-team.So which is it - the one from the THSCBA website or what the Caller is reporting? Still no correction on the THSCBA website or press release. Where did Caller get their info?

It's just really easy to misinterpret things that are said sometimes. It may not have been how you ment it but it sounds pretty bad. But i still think your swell stiffy. =x

I guess this one situation where I need to divorce myself from my personal feelings and look at the whole enchalada if you will. One of these boys (if the list is correct) will have a chance to redeem himself next season. The other won't.

From the Caller Times Comment section youngm#232914 writes: For the record, the original list that the THSBCA sent out was missing some players. When this story was originally posted, Wyatt Mathisen wasn't on the list and the story pointed out the glaring omission. The THSBCA then said they had put out an erroneous list and sent out a new list. We, then, updated the story. The list in this story is the correct one.
Matt Young Sports Editor Caller-Times ... So there we go. Thank you THSBCA for fixing it.
