So I guess we have to get used to these 5 letters for 2012. HR production was affected at the college level and should be affected even more at the high school level this year. It will be interesting to see which hitters it affects the most. Teams like Calallen have great hitters, but also have well positioned park with the wind blowing out as opposed to the pitcher friendly T-M park with 25mph winds blowing in. Calallen hit 61 HR's last year as a team...a phenominal number. How much will the BBCOR bats affect their HR production? 50% off, 75% off...no change at all? What are your thoughts on how the game will be affected?

I did a lot of research before I bought my son his new BBCOR. Some bats swung heavy, some had no pop, but the bat I decided on, and was highly recommended was the TPX Z1000. It was that or the Demarini Voodoo. The Z1000 uses a double dampener, was very well balanced and was said to have the most pop. I got mine on EBAY for $249 ($12 S/H), which was a steal.

I know that we calallen started using them in the summer and good hitters vs great hitters is the key if anyone squares off on the ball they will have a chance to park one. Speaking of one hitter that I know to well it will be a advantage cause he not a power so call hitter he more hits all over the field, ( that's another reason i love Will's hitting instructions) hitters will fine a way to get on. Wyatt and Tyler has been parking ball all over the state and Greg seem to have more HR'S this summer that all of the season last yr with lots of 2bs and 3bs. So lot is going to be on the hitter and the mechanic's of hitting.

Thanks for the info on the bat '83...we are still researching what to buy.
CB25...good news that the kids are still getting some pop out of these bats. I've heard similar reports from the parent of a kid that plays with us. I also heard the Batters Box has a new hitting coach that is great. I think '83 takes his son there. We are going to check it out after the playoffs. cfwb has done some research and said the same thing about the pop being there, but the sweet spot being that much smaller. I guess we are gonna need lots of reps in the cage to tweak the mechanics. Could be an interesting year.
