Chase Campbell went the distance for FB giving up 6 hits and 2 runs as FB had 17 hits and beat Miller 15 - 2 in five innings in both teams season openers at Cabaniss tonight.

Congrats to Chase and the rest of the Hornets! Chase has been very patient and his perseverance paid off. Chase has conquered a battle far greater than this game...Attaboy Chase!!! Way to keep the faith!!! I sure wish I could have seen it!!!

Carroll opened the season with a 10-2 win over Moody tonight. Good for Carroll....I was at their game against Lubbock in Round Rock last year and I need to see them play another game to erase that one. It was very unexpected and one-sided.

Calallen vs Sinton PPD water in the outfield, why didnt we play in Calallen IDK, so reschedule for March 12 hey foos whats with the bench clearing? All I know is what I read in the award winning Caller Times (which means not much) but their write up said they hit 6 batters and twice had pitches thrown behind batters. Not saying I ever did it but IF I had wanted to stick one on someone all you have to do is put it butt high and behind them and 9 times out of 10 they will back right into it. I can see Carroll having a hard time accepting whoopsie that many times. Moody says they were pitching inside due to thats the way to go against bats with the close performance to wood bats. Only The Shadow knows what evil lurks in the minds of men.

Way to keep the faith!!! I sure wish I could have seen it!!! Congrats indeed. Kid is ALL heart. Sorry you missed it JD. I was pleased with the way the Hornets played. Pretty smooth for the opener. One error and just a couple of base running tecnique very minor mistakes and I am being picky to bring those up. FB's home tourney is this Thur - Sat. Don't have a schedule yet.

I hadn't read the write up the caller yet. But I can't imagine corky would allow his players to intentionally throw at batters that many times. Moody's pitching is a big question mark right now. Only one proven starter and questionable depth. I would chalk it up to opening day jitters. Being a moody grad, I know we got some lean years ahead of us.
I think Carroll is the real deal. If their key players can stay healthy, the sky is the limit for them.

Spoke to my father who was at the moody carroll game lastnight, he said things got a little heated. Apparently coach Yeager started yelling at Moody's pitcher for pitching hawkins inside, and corky got went out to defend his pitcher. He doesn't think Hawkins was intentionally thrown at because he said Moody's pitchers were having control problems all night. But he said both dugouts cleared for a moment. I am sure the fans didn't help the situation. Luckily it was brought under control quickly. It would have sucked for the season to get off to such an ugly start.
