Sorry to disagree with the comment earlier that the first game was lost on a bad call. I was at the game and behind home plate.... the catchers left foot was almost a foot from home plate. There in lies the problem. The catcher used the wrong technique. It is normal for a catcher to stand in front of the bag with his left foot on or on the third base side of the bag. The problem was that this was a force out. That requires different foot work, like a first baseman. With the left foot back the player(right handed) has very limited reach with the gloved hand. If you reach to far or rotate your upper body your left foot will be pulled forward. The proper foot work for a force at home is to have the right foot on the bag. You can step with the left in the direction of the throw and reach for the ball without the right foot coming off the bag.

I think this is right on records. CB25, JD? District 31-4A
1 Calallen 10-1/ TM 2 Moody 9-1/ Kingsville/Alice 3 Flour Bluff 6-4 /Ray/Kingsville
Moody is the one that could be getting hosed by this as far as district depending on the score difference between them and Cal in their games as they split 1-1. As far as district rules that govern this I think the coaches could agree to play or not regardless. Would be nice to know for sure.

Yea Yea Yea. I bet Chapman and Danaher begged the UIL district Pooba (whoever that is) to finish the game. I agree that it sucks, but they may have their hands tied by the district. But it certainly has nothing to do with the UIL. I'll tell you what, I'll arm wrestle any one of you FBers in the parking lot to settle this once and for all! We are bringing back Stingzone and you're on.

NO ONE was closer to that play than me besides the two players and the ump.

CaCa Times says it was a 3-2 vote. Which of following are with the Dark Side?
Kingsville Alice CCISD TM
I assume CCISD has two votes due to Moody and Ray?
Rev up the helicopter engines!

There are 7 schools in the district, and I'm assuming that Calallen and FB abstained from voting, but I could be wrong.

Well, I believe it's the umpires fault. If they stopped the game last night for lighting reasons, then they should have declared it an official game last night. I don't know if the coaches agreed to suspend the game or what. But, either way, the umpires have to make that decision. And, if the umpires and both coaches agreed to suspend the game and resume it today at 5:30, then that's what should have been done.

If the rules say one thing the coaches can't just disregard them by agreeing to do something else. A game considered completed can not be continued. Additional innings will not count.

Your point makes sense except that umpires can't officially call a game like that. They are not usually privy to the different districts' rules, as that's an administrative issue. But they can suspend it due to unsafe conditions. That's exactly what they did.
