Thanks for reminding me, this is the part of the year where I go to Port A for a weekend. And of course my favorite candy store with the rattlesnakes inside to look at, among other things! I also go to Houston around this time to see an Astros game (this year most likely against the Pirates on Jul 28) so if I go to one of these places, I might meet some of you guys too. Just let me know if some of y'all are in the vicinity at the time to say hi!

I'm headed to Houston to pick up passengers, then New Orleans, Lafayette, New Iberia for meetings, then back to Houston to drop off some passengers then back to Corpus and driving to San Diego for the night. Gonna be a fast and furious day and I need to leave now!

Appreciate the advice FB fan! I will check in with you in about a week. Hoping to fish on Friday and Sat mornings. You guys are freaking cracking me up! Hey Boog, if I can get down there that weekend I certainly will. Whover suggested the FB/Cal game, man I'd love to see that! I am pretty sure we got a game that night though and the better half would not be happy with me for going out of town and not going to watch our girl in the band. One of these days I'm definately going to check out GP/Cal and FB/Cal though, I can tell you that!! If you happen to catch GP vs Calallen in Gee Pee land, don't forget your hunting gear. It can come in handy if you sit on the Calallen side.

Hell, New Orleans alone from CC has to be 9 hours or so as it took me 8 last summer from my casa.

RFLMAO STFF, I cannot make fun of anybody's pressbox cuz ours is the biggest laugh in 4a/5a in the state most likely! It does make for a very, very nice backrest though as 2 of my 5 season tickets are up against it!

While one goes there to get candy, its interesting to stare at the snakes moving around from the tank (they won't get out, there is really hard glass covering them. And I thought going back and forth to Florida (20 hour round trip) was hard enough!

But it is a good backrest and the only shade in the place! Now thats the best place to sit, but don't go to sleep! Cause thats what I do when I sit there!

JD, you got a corporate jet now or what? Holding out on my compadre??? Need to set that sonofabuck down on the FM rd in front of my house and pick me up for weekend LV trip!

Cause thats what I do when I sit there! Oh yeah, the shade on those September evenings is AWESOME!!! I never go to sleep up there as we are usually too busy giving the opposing team's coaches a hard time!

It does make for a very, very nice backrest though as 2 of my 5 season tickets are up against it! Actually I think Varmit posted the GP home side box which looks pretty nice. I know there is a pic of the visitors side tarp somewhere out there. Our press box is getting a face lift right now, but nothing more than that. And from what I understand from folks working on the fundraising for renovations at TAMUK which include a total rebuild of the press box and addition of suites in the long term plan, press boxes fall under the ADA which mean you so much do more than switching out windows or doors, you have to build an elevator to the box. So it's something most districts are trying to avoid replacing right now if they can avoid unless they are using bond money to throw in those costs or have other money to burn which most don't. Or you have wealthy benefactor out there such Alice with CC Forbes.
