According to Dave Campbell football Isn't this the third or fourth time he's "retired?"

I just read on the 5a board that GA Moore retired as did his replacement at Celina, Butch Ford. Wow, two big pairs of shoes to fill for sure.

I think this retirement sticks - successive losing seasons got the best of him.
I have seen different records posted but the accurate mark is 426-92-9.
Current Texas Top 3 All-Time 1. GA Moore - 426-92-9 2. Gordon Wood - 395-93-15 3. Phil Danaher - 380-94-4

He ought to have it in the bag in four years (hopefully).

I am having a hard time thinking of anyone to stop them in R4 D2 this year and don't believe Cal will lose more then one of their 1st 10 games, maybe even running off a perfect 14-0 heading into the semis. I think they win the semis and have 14-1 or 15-0 going into the BIG SHOW in late December. I'll pick Cal as my preaseason D2 champion as of now and say they get either 15 or 16 wins this year so now he's down to only needing 30 or 31 in the next 3 years after 2012. I'd say coach D will have the record in 4 years. At least if I was going to bet on it, I'd lay my money on the Cats getting it done. Until other teams in R4 step up again in D2, it is theirs to lose the next few years. I know there is Tivy but I just cannot see them keeping up the pace of the last 4-6 years without Smith there to lead them. The bottom line is what he's done the past 25+ years at Calallen is phenominal and the only thing he lacks is a ring. I hope like Hell he gets it this year unless of course Cal somehow meets up with my Buffs along the way.

In fact, there for a good while they averaged 13+ per year! Like I've said 100 times............amazing indeed. Cal and Danaher deserve to win it all and this damn sure could be the year.
