As much as I love my Coyotes, I think FB takes it. They have a good nucleus returning. Their JV was also very good. Mims will be hard to handle, if he stays healthy. According to the Bluffers, he has bulked up and has not lost his speed. No doubt, he will be an all district, all South Texas candidate.

The downside for both Alice and FB is that they play each other early on. Not saying anyone else in the district won't be competitive, just saying Alice and FB are better. (like that one Stiffy?) So come playoff time, neither team can take for granted a basket full of yards, a plethera of Td's, etc... and beat our chests like GP does when they beat their JV practice squad... Its gonna be a looooong summer

The biggest improvement in the Bluff over last year will be faster linebackers. The D should be much better overall with a more experienced secondary and Mason Carrell and David Morris anchoring the line. Our biggest question mark is the offensive line, but we have Trevor Lodge and Tucker Villareal to build around. Who do you think the Flour Bluff playmakers will be Kevin? Welcome aboard.

I'm so glad no one is really giving the Laredoschools a chance...... So it can come back and Bite them in The ASS !! I hope the Laredo schools are better than they have been in the past as the better the competition, the better prepared each school will be for the playoffs. Flour Bluff won't have to face a Laredo school until the 6th week of the season when they face Laredo Martin who only won 2 games last year. We play Cigarroa after that and then Nixon so the teams should get progressively better. I think we should have more relavent data to determine how good those teams are that far into the season as opposed to only going by our past history of those programs.

We really do hope the Laredo teams have improved since the last time they were put into district 31 in the realignment before the one just expiring. It would be better for everyone that way. A lot of the opinions you are seeing expressed here were formed then. For example: last games: Flour Bluff 77 Laredo Nixon 14, FB 36 Cig 0, FB 62 LBJ 6.

My 8 year old is the catcher for his undefeated team, so we are concentrating on the 3 game series in 2 weeks .. Ill make some calls and see who the haas is.. I did hear Resendez has improved.. Much like AJ Benavides did from his Jr. year to Sr. year. His Sr. year Aj broke Herman's TD record and took that 12-0 team to the Alamodome and gave LT a scare..

If you get a chance, grab me a copy of that JV game with the Bluff from last year! I'll trade you and Coach a steak for it! Keep us updated on the undefeated season!

Beating our JV is tougher than beating Alice's varsity... Great comeback... Gold star... !!! JK CPA. I expect a great and hard fought football game on September 7th. It should be entertaining for the fans of both teams. Too early to tell who will be favored to win that one. But, since it's in Alice, y'all should be a slight favorite.
