Lake Travis, Smithson Valley and New Braunfels Canyon should move up to 5A. I think Cedar Park will move up as well. However, most likely LT & CP will end up in R2 like the rest of the Austin area 5a schools. This would stink. I'd rather have them as well as Westlake and Bowie back in R4 to give us more strong teams in our region. However, this is the UIL we are talking about and I wouldn't bet a dime on who goes where until the alignments are released! I heard that Lake Travis will be 5A but CP will stay in 4A.

Well.....this week we get to find out who's going where. I was really hoping the UIL would do something else with the Laredo schools, but that's the way it's looking.

It makes sense, but you never know with the UIL.

Do we know for sure that the Laredo area schools did not ask the UIL to "opt up" to play in 5A so they could keep their local district and rivals?

Do we know for sure that the Laredo area schools did not ask the UIL to "opt up" to play in 5A so they could keep their local district and rivals? The UIL link posted above shows that none of the Laredo schools opted up. Unfortunately...
