Q&A with Devine’s Joseph Sadler blog.mysanantonio.com/hssports/2011/11/football-qa-with-devines-joseph-sadler/You may have heard that Devine running back Joseph Sadler shattered Kenneth Hall’s 58-year-old single-season scoring record against Wharton over the weekend. Sadler needed five points to eclipse Hall’s 395. He scored 50 in the 56-42 victory. The Gingerbread Man is a record-breaking machine. He also broke the area record for season rushing yards (3,680) previously held by Reagan’s Marcus Wright (3,374). And he’s got other records in his sights, including the national scoring record: 453, set by Indiana’s Brett Law in 1988. Sadler sits at 441 points heading into Devine’s state quarterfinal game against Wimberley.

Good player but he wouldn't have near the numbers playing against 4a or 5a competition. He would be avg to above avg in 4a or 5a. As you can see below, his avg per carry is 10.45, this is not any higher then good 4a & 5a backs average agains much, MUCH better defenses then he's played against
I'm not trying to slight what this young man has accomplished at all. Hell, it is amazing that with the number of carries he's had he's been able to just stay healthy this season. Devine's entire offense is him & one other RB that just broke 1K yards! If any 4a or 5a team would go this route, he'd get pummeled by much bigger, stronger, faster, hard hitting defenses!
Still, an amazing accomplishment for sure. I've heard Hall will be at the game this week to meet this young man. What an honor for him for sure!
