UIL has approved Lufkin's appeal for realignment assignment! Panther Football will play in District 9 for 2024-26. Glad yall won the appeal. Most reasonable people would have approved it.

So in other words, Aledo and the north TX schools are happy Lufkin got dumped on the south schools, so y'all can avoid travel to Lufkin. Its somebody else's problem now. Got it.

All things considered it makes more sense to have Lufkin going South than West. Also- Lukfin moving or not moving has absolutely nothing to do with Aledo. Does not effect us at all.

Reasonable people can agree Lufkin's on an island....SOMEONE has to travel there, cant have a two-team district... I still am not sure why KP and Porter aren't in 9-5A though.... this makes more sense to me 9-5A D1 Kingwood Park Porter Lufkin Beaumont United Beaumont West Brook Port Arthur Memorial Barbers Hill Baytown Sterling 10-5A D1 HISD G-Park Spring Woods 11-5A D1 Pasadena LaPorte Crosby FB Kempner Angleton Galveston Ball Friendswood

That aside, Aledo would potentially play Lufkin early in the playoffs had they stayed.

The only one that counts is the UIL's. North TX D-7 predictably whined about it got their way, so now Lufkin and their travel problems are dumped on D-9. I figured this would happen. Sure looks like the UIL catered to the DFW area teams yet AGAIN.

That trip from Lufkin to Galveston Ball will be fun. Ball did not appeal and is still in District 9. I have a copy of Angletons schedule and Ball is not on it.

Sending Lufkin south was the best overall choice. Following your suggestion, I did re-read your post. And yes, you clearly said Aledo and North TX schools. Maybe you should take another look. Also, can you do a mock playoff bracket showing how Aledo could have played Lufkin "early in the playoffs had they stayed"? Maybe those BH playoff brackets are different than the UIL's lol.

Welcome North Austin/Belton area teams to Region II! Should be some interesting first round playoff games between D7 & D8.

The UIL should have put Lufkin in District 9 to start....it made much more geographic sense the mileage and time on the road is less for Lufkin going to District 9 vs District 7...Lufkin's travel problems will always get "dumped" somewhere..it was DFW the last two years, this time its to District 9....

Ove 160 Miles 1 way and On those yellow busses will take at least 3 hours Minimum. That's without rush Hour or any traffic problems. That rarely happens. Thing is in the old district Lufkin had two trips of 200+ miles one way, another one that's 194 miles and then the Highland Park trip is 176 one way and that's going through downtown Dallas... Galveston Ball got a bad deal no doubt about it....going to Lufkin is gonna suck...I dont think it'll bother Lufkin much since they travel all the time anyway
