Do y'all still have the announcer that has the UIL rule book memorized and city parking codes memorized?

Do y'all still have the announcer that has the UIL rule book memorized and city parking codes memorized? I quit listening before he gets to the oxygen masks and your seat cushion can be used for a flotation device.

My goodness he had a lengthy run! I haven't been to a live game at Calallen since the early 2000s when TM had their other 2 playoff teams. I went to watch TM play Calallen on my bye weeks to support the kids I had coached there, since they had reached out and asked me to come watch them play.

He passed away quite a few years back. Maybe 10 years ago? May he rest in peace. I'm sure he was a nice man, but his pre game announcing was something else... Yes he was for sure. He would always give me grief when I was announcing and that he needed approval in writing first. I had to open the press box window on several occasion and Dr. A would yell "give her the microphone". It was quite comical. On another note - Charlie is officially here! So much excitement around! He was at the baseball and softball games Friday night also. Can't wait to see the next steps! Go Cats!

It’s great that Reeves is already there building trust and setting his expectations at Calallen. Things must be happening at Cal because Pico & CCGirl have been as quiet as a church mouse. Prolly trying to drum up support for the school bond coming up soon. Just curious, it’s getting close to end of the school year, any resignations or pink slips been handed out yet? Reeves has to get his Guys firmly entrenched in Calallen over the summer months and ready for their first season at Calallen.

A lot of excitement right now watching our defending state champion softball team and baseball team start playoffs. Plus our upcoming bond which I'm confident will pass and now the buzz around football. Charlie is already working the boys hard and had a parent meeting to roll out expectations with booster club coming soon. I am excited about his plan. He's very big on structure, accountability and discipline. Good stuff!

He's very big on structure, accountability and discipline. Good stuff! All of what you just stated reminds me of the foundational traits that a few of the great coaches at Cuero implemented in their programs. Back in the late 70& 80”s, Buster Gilbreath ran a crazy strong program that produced multiple state championships and one of the longest win streak in the country at 44 consecutive wins. Strict discipline and extremely hard training produced those great teams. In a time when long hair and being a hippy was the norm, his team members had buzz cuts and flat tops. Later on in the early 2000”s Reeves dad was the HC at Cuero and he built another great program at Cuero. Again rock hard discipline was the foundation to his program. That program again produced great teams with great athletes and once again the mean green truly meant something in Texas football. Reeves does come from a great background of coaches and coaching. What will his future be at Calallen? That depends on the people of Calallen, who have to give him the support and resources he must have to be successful. Only time will tell.

There will be a few new faces coming in over the summer. He has a sold plan and it’s built on accountability. And it’s a two way street meaning the coaches have just as much to be accountable for as the players. I really tend to think the community despite Chinos skepticism has bought in. It was apparent last season the enthusiasm was gone in the program and what Reeve has shown us at least on paper and interviews is refreshing.

Knowledge of the kids at calallen with tallent and having the right kids in place is the first thing that needs to be done. Recognizing a Running back over a defensive back will change a teams outlook by 2 positions. Some kids might think they are a linebacker when they would be better on the offensive side of the ball. I just hope Cal cat girl will make a couple second halfs in the stands and not in the car.

Your team has an underachieving coach for the third time in ten years and you are throwing bombs at a coach who has yet to coach one game at Calallen. Davis is an underachiever. He has one spectacular year everywhere he goes and then woof.

You all will be a bunch of Sophomores and Juniors so we just have to wait until next year. You and you only have been saying that since the Harris days. You need to paint that on your water tower.
