So true. Last couple of years to go down to the valley for such a non competative game was disheartning I'm not all that sure that your new district will offer any more competitiveness than the last one but at least the games are much closer by! It's GP and Miller and then everyone else no doubt about it. Playing these teams will be much more competative. Not playing starters for almost every district second half was not good. Just wish we had a little more chalenging passing teams on preseason.

The last few years the weak spot on the GP defense has been the secondary. This is an every year issue, we know it, the coaches know it, so it’s squarely on Davis and his coaches to fix it. The old mentality of selecting all your best players for the offense needs to adjusted and it all starts at middle school. Build them up, train them up before they even get to high school will reap rewards as soon as they enter high school.

Rick Rhodes per Matt Stepp has retired Yes it’s true that Rick has decided to retire from Cameron Yoe. Now you have to wonder if Jack Rhoades takes the HC/AD job? After looking at the list of CY coaches, Jack is just listed as a asst coach. Who ever takes over at Yoe, they will be under a Hugh amount of pressure to be successful at that school.

He might not be ready to be the HC but Yoe is his alma matter. Jack has all the tools to be a great HC, but he’s also seen the dark side of coaching. Jack is a dad now who might put off the HC job till he’s a bit older.

Im interested to see if Lovejoy can win state and can he do what he did in Westlake with LJ. Funny fact is the current Westlake QB Resse Wise played at GP as a young kid. His dad Toby graduated from GP in 1997.

LoveJoy is in a high population area as well, but not like Westlake. King, there have been many families leave GP in the past for greater opportunities for their kids in football and baseball. A few families at GP and ended up at Liberty Hill when Jerry Vance became HC/AD at that school.

His dad Toby graduated from GP in 1997. Toby and Amber are great people and Reese normally comes back on a busy week to catch a game and see friends and family. He is getting recruited currently by a lot of D1 schools. Martin Dossetts son signed with Baylor and has the fastest 110 hurdle time in the country so far. A lot of talented Alumni kids performing well other places.

I personally don't like the changes. That being said GP will have a very strong offensive line next year. The team is putting in the work. GP will have some young kids comming up that are supper tallented. Next years Soph and freshmen teams are very tallented comming up. Some sophs will be on the varsity team and maybe a couple starting. Hopefully the QB position gets stronger and more well rounded. GP might be a running team next year with the strong O-line. GPs D will loose two amazing D1 linebackers and an amazing kicker and D-end. Defense will be the question mark cause of the 3 year starters that were lost.

They are returning 4 out of 5 on the O Line I expect that to be the strength while the rest of the position groups settle in.

Lovejoy is growing at a much, MUCH higher rate than Westlake and has almost doubled in enrollment the last 15-16 years where Westlake has only grown by about 10%-15%. Westlake is grown out, Lovejoy is not. Lovejoy has the money just like Westlake does and they are hungry for it I believe as well. Allman had a good program at Westlake the 5 seasons he was there going 45-21 but Dodge took them to an entirely new level going 104-13 losing just 1 game is last 3 years there. Lovejoy is in about the exact same position as what Westlake was in when Dodge took them over and built them into the best team in the state.
