D1:
North Crowley (14-0) vs Duncanville (12-1)
North Crowley's 14-0 record is impressive for sure and they've won those 14 games by an average score of nearly 56 to 15. That said, I do not think they've played anyone like Duncanville yet!
NC's road to the semis:
Keller 42-26
Permian 63-10
Prosper 35-7
Allen 49-37
Duncanville's only loss of the year was to powerhouse DII Desoto in district 35-49
Duncanville's road to the semis:
Hutto 63-7
Rockwall Heath 62-24
The Woodlands 49-21
Spring Westfield 70-28
NC certainly has the speed to matchup with D'ville but I think the difference will be up front for the Panthers.
I'm taking D'Ville by 10
North Shore (14-0) vs Westlake (14-0)
This is a rematch of last year (NS 49-34) and 2020 (WL 24-21)
The only two teams to come close to NS this year are their district rivals, Summer Creek in district play (31-21) and Atascocita last week in the R3 finals (34-28).
North Shore's road to Semis:
Deer Park 42-14
Clear Springs 49-21
Cy-Fair 45-9
Atascocita 34-28
Westlake has had a couple of close calls this year beating LT in district 20-14 and Dripping Springs 27-14. Drip was tied with WL going into the 4th qtr of this game.
Westlake's road to the semis:
Round Rock 35-3
SA Reagan 45-28
Laredo United 59-14
Lake Travis 21-14
I'm taking NS by 13
D2:
Southlake Carroll (13-1) vs Desoto (13-0)
SLC's only loss of the year was avenged in a big way last week when they beat Nelson BADLY for the region title. Other than that district loss to Nelson, nobody else has gotten closer than 25 points to them.
SLC's road to the semis:
Boswell 70-0
Frenship 49-14
Highland Park 45-14
Byron Nelson 56-7
Desoto is a straight up beast and IMO, the best team in Texas this year. That win over their district rival and defending D1 champ Duncanville is beyond impressive.
Desoto's road to the semis:
Harker Heights 50-10
Wylie East 42-20
Willis 65-31
Cedar Hill 59-16
I'm taking Desoto by 8
Summer Creek (13-1) vs Steele (13-1)
Summer Creek is a heck of a team who's only loss was by 10 in district to North Shore. They are big & fast with a big time RB and a front 7 that is dominant.
SC's road to the semis:
Pasadena Memorial 48-0
Clear Creek 42-0
Stratford 52-15
FB Hightower 35-31
Steele's only loss this season was in week 2 to Lake Travis 20-10. Offensively the Knights are loaded with underclassmen D1 talent at the skill positions and 4 DBs that will play D1 as well. They have the skill position talent to upset Summer Creek if they can get better offensive line play in this game and defensively slow up the SC run game.
Steele's road to the semis:
Brandeis 42-14
McNeil 42-21
Harlan 48-27
Dripping Springs 28-21
I'm taking the homer pick of Steele by 3.
Dang, Tepper is taking Steele?!
