They should have played at a bigger place! I watched the CC Miller game and kept seeing Brownsville fans on the visitor side lol.

Agree about a bigger venue. Brownsville didn’t want to travel to Alamodome because it was too close to SV. Most high school games I have ever been to they ensure the two fan bases are kept separate. Saw on the news there were several incidents in the stands lat week at the R4 championship game because Brownsville fans were on Corpus side of the field.

Yes, this really should’ve been at the Alamodome. Buc Stadium only seats 11,000 fans unless they bought in temporary bleachers. Or if they were concerned about SV being too close, then in Houston.

No it shouldn't.... Brownsville won the toss and they had every right to set the terms... Going to Houston would've have been dumb and made the trip for Brownsville six hours. It’s UTSA’s graduation this weekend too

But the fan interest in this game means there isn’t a stadium big enough for this game.

Part of that is if you win the toss and get to host and or pick a neutral site, you try your damn hardest to get that game as close to you as possible. But you thinking Brownsville should travel five to six hours all the way to Houston is absurd as a neutral site. You do know where Brownsville is on a map? It’s not 10 mins from Corpus for crying outloud.

Google maps has Spring Branch TX 2 hrs and 24 minutes to corpus. Brownsville to corpus is 2 hrs 27 minutes to corpus. Bucs stadium seems like it was the perfect midpoint

Buc is only 11k seats so I just hope that they did it right and all the seats on the home side went to BVM and all the seats on the visitor's side went to SV. Hopefully they will add endzone bleachers on each side and offer those seats the same way to both teams.

Just too bad CC doesn't have a stadium that seats more than 11k The RGV I'm betting could fill 15k seats themselves for a game as big as this. Man, Alamo Stadium would have been rocking for this game. lol

That would add 30 mins for SV travelers and delete the same for the RGV fans.

It’s not 10 mins from Corpus for crying outloud. You’re not telling me something I don’t already know. It was more of a hypothetical “should’ve”. I’ve said it before on another thread: Alamodome is probably a terrible venue from a momentum perspective for BVM. There’s a distinct psychological advantage to SV playing in the Alamodome. But unfortunately it’s the only practical venue that could’ve hosted this game from a capacity standpoint. Someone recently said that Javelina Stadium hasn’t hosted games recently. That’s interesting. It makes me wonder why. Either way, that stadium would’ve been inadequate anyway. I guess I’ll never see a RGV team play in the state semifinals in the Alamodome. It was always more of a wishlist to see 20,000-40,000 pack the dome just for the RGV.
