It won’t work especially in the smaller schools 3A & down. Schools with less enrollment already struggle to field teams in volleyball, basketball, golf, tennis, cross country and swim teams. Adding another fall sport just adds more stress to try to field another team with more expense for a School district.

And just because we’re in TX, it doesn’t mean we won’t see someone that has something “biologically” that the others don’t have and who really shouldn’t be on a team (but identifies with them) playing on a team none-the-less!! I don’t see this as being political, but If I have to delete this post so be it!

What I am waiting for is why can't it be tackle? Why Does it have to be flag football?
I have 7 daughters, all of which have played sports. They would all have played tackle football had momma let them. I was ok with it.
They see stuff like this and get mad about it. They hate the whole "you throw like a girl" and such. Now they also know that guys are stronger than girls, and guys and girls should have their own divisions and do not agree with what's happening with women's sports currently. But they do think girls can tackle and play real football and such. So they wouldn't play flag football for that reason.

Why not have it in the spring? My 4 girls were all ballerinas. They all tried different sports but excelled in dance.

Why not have it in the spring? My 4 girls were all ballerinas. They all tried different sports but excelled in dance. It would conflict with at least two spring team sports (softball and soccer) and track. In the fall it would only conflict with Volleyball and Basketball or barely touch the basketball season depending on how a structure would be set up Granted they probably wouldn't have a potential 12 week season like boy's football has with 11 weeks for district/non district games and six for playoffs. I see more girls who would want to play flag football cut from the same cloth as those who play soccer and softball.

People give ballet a hard time but those guys and ladies are some serious athletes!!! I say anyone that can dance on their toes and make it look easy is a beast mode athlete!!! My two youngest want to try it, but their schedules are pretty full with Gymnastics, soccer, softball, and school as it is.

If it's the girls who want to have the sport let them have it. Hopefully that's the reason.

No coach will publicly say it, but you know darn well they don't want this as a fall sport.
