The KU coach is a fool. Down seven late in the third on your own 35 and you go for it and fail miserably. In a game you had no business being that close in, you hand Texas the win. I don't think the Jayhawks were going to win but you can't just give away opportunities like that. Analytics be dammed, you gotta know when to read the situation in front of your face. He did. He saw the UT line had his D beat up. He rolled the dice to try to keep possession and put off the inevitable and lost. The UT running game showed that from then on gaining yards in chunks.

Should Michigan punishment be:
1. Ruled ineligible for post season this season? 2. On probation this season and 2024 season, no post season and no televised games? 3. 4 year probation? 4. Forfeit all games this season?

The Big Ten gives Michigan a slap on the wrist. Weak punishment. HC Harbaugh can coach the team during the week, just not allowed on the sideline during REGULAR SEASON GAMES. No punishment for post season bowl games or CFP Playoffs. Weak sauce.

Picking up signs during a game or film study is one thing. Michigan went out of their way to send coaches and staff under cover to future opponents games to explicitly record for signs. Advance scouting like that is straight up unethical cheating and should not be tolerated.

Michigan went out of their way to send coaches and staff under cover to future opponents games to explicitly record for signs. Advance scouting like that is straight up unethical cheating and should not be tolerated. Its been happening forever and no one has ever cared this much. ESPN loves to tell the story about OU going undercover as construction workers to film the Longhorns practices in the 70’s. Everyone laughs about it. There’s countless examples of teams doing exactly what Michigan did. They’ve never been harshly punished and have always been treated like they just outsmarted their opponents. The idea of giving a team the death penalty or suspending them from bowls or whatever for doing exactly what multiple teams before have done and went unpunished is absolutely ridiculous. It’s just a unserious take. Suspend the coach for a few games and move on. My favorite part is a few weeks ago they were asking other coaches about it and they were just like “yeah whatever”. That tells you everything you need to know about what really goes down with every team. This is honestly like finding out in 1985 that SMU was paying players and being shocked because you never thought a school would do that.

According to the terms of the contract, Texas A&M will owe Fisher $19.2 million within 60 days and then pay him $7.2 annually through 2031. There is no offset or mitigation on those payments, and the annual payments start 120 days after termination.
With that kina payout I'm surprised Jimbo had any motivation to win.
Unfortunately A&M has set a salary precedent and any coach with half a brain interviewing will demand a fully guaranteed contract buyout
