Looks like the A's are finally getting out of Oakland and heading to Las Vegas. Which is pretty much what they have been trying to do for the last 10 years. Kaval told the Las Vegas Review-Journal a $1.5 billion, 35,000-seat stadium with a partially retractable roof would be built on the site, www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/36241520/oakland-agree-purchase-land-las-vegas-stripThe real issue with the A's is their lowball owner John Fisher who refuses to spend above the league minimum on roster and stadium improvements with his 2.4 billion net worth that puts him in the top half of richest owners. How MLB has not forced him to sell is beyond me, especially in a big TV market like Oakland and the Bay area. Fisher has basically been running the MLB A's like a Triple-A team for the last 20 years. Hopefully they won't take those pain in the ass 5 gallon bucket drummers with them.

The rangers make a big trade splash for Max Scherzer. It might be a week late as the Rangers have lost 2-3 to Houston and are struggling vs SD this week. The five game division lead is down to one now.

In a tit for tat move the Astros traded for Verlander to try to one up the rangers trade for scherzer They needed Starting Pitching with 3 of their projected starters out from the start of the season. McCullars and Garcia for the Season. Urcede (i know I spelled that wrong). I didn't count on McCullars from the start but still. Injuries have plagued the Astros all season. Need one of these two to go to the World Series. And I like having both Texas teams at the top of the division. Just wish we still had a chance for an All Texas World Series. But BUTT Selig put an end to that.

Hopefully, it's a good battle till the end of September for the division title.

The Rangers are missing Eovaldi who has been the best starting pitcher since Degrom went down pre season, Seager short stop and Heim at catcher. Three of their six all stars. Hopefully they will be back soon.

Both teams fleeced the Mets in these deals IMO. the Mets owner is paying around 90 Mil in salary combined for those two to play for someone else.

Rangers got Segar back who wasted no time going yard second pitch he saw bottom of the first for two run dinger. Dunning went 7 2/3 giving up 1 of the 3 hits the White Sox got in a 11-1 beat down. He also had a personal best 11 Ks. Astros got to be tied for first for 3 hours.

Scherzer had a respectable first outing for the rangers today. 6 innings, 3 runs, 9 Ks but the 7 hits needs cleaning up.
