Coach before Kay got 1 title in 11 seasons and it was in his very first season as HC. He never won another R3 title much less state title. Kay wins 4 titles in 9 years and is runner up in another. Wins the region 6 of the 9 years he is there. He is did way more with the same talent as any other coach they ever had. End of story. Wrong. Coach before Kay inherited the garbage. Kay inherited a state title program. Mabye it was only 1 title but A LOT of winning. End of story. Sure Because you say so

Because the team was loaded... just like it was when he inherited it. I'm a fan and I understand emotions and I understand the emotions that can get in the way because of all the titles. That's what going on with this dude's assessment. We see the records before he took over and the records before the previous coach took over. I don't need to live in that area to have common sense about that program. Coach Kay was there when Aymond was there and only won 1 title (greatest team of all time). It wasn't til North shore took advantage of open enrollment... I mean "elevate the program" when the ships started pouring in. Kay is still one of the best HS coaches in TX history.
