Yup Vandy will not play Drip nearly as close this time around. Drip by 2+ scores. And though Brennan really played well last week against LT I just feel that WL is way, way too good up front for the Bears to handle. I'm hoping for a 2 score game but if Brennan slips even a little bit in this one it will be 4+ scores. Brennan has a great 4 year starter at QB along with a couple D1 guys catching it for him with one being his twin brother but they've not played a defense anything like this one.

Austin Vandegrift beat Dripping Springs 27-24. Apparently Tigers fumbled near the endzone ready for the go ahead score. Ouch. What a terrible way to lose.

There were a lot of games yesterday where the team I thought would win... Didn't

Just wanted to point out that single vote for Vandergrift was from me.

Austin Westlake imposed its will on San Antonio Brennan and they win 47-7. I can’t believe it wasn’t closer! Chaps have rolled over all of their opponents on the playoffs so far. I hope they can beat Galena Park North Shore.

I hope the Chaps win but I think NS gets it this year

NS is still very good. but I don't think they are a solid as the past few years. This Could be the best year for someone to knock them off.

They are still a top 3 team in the state IMO. Hell, the ONLY team that has beaten them in the playoffs the last 5 seasons has been WL and that was 2020 in the semis 24-20. 3 titles in 4 years in the highest classification = DYNASTY

They can beat you with Offense or Defense. the first game vs Atascocita was a 3 point win. they left no doubt last game.

I tell you what, along with tons of big time power 5 athletes year in and year out, coach K is a baddazz! Any coach with the metal to send a 5-star RB home the night before a championship game for not following team rules is a coach I'd love to have!!!

We both missed that one..... It's going to be interesting to see how LT and Westlake adjust to the new kid on the block making a statement right off the bat going forward. My guess is this is not a one and done type year for Drip thanks to much of the Lake Travis area growth going their direction and Drip certainly having more shiny new toys to entice would-be parents of athletic kids to their district.

Yup Drip had their best team ever and laid an egg in round 4 against a team they should have beaten. My only hope is that Vandy doesn't get crushed by Katy again this week like they did last year. Hopefully they will make a game of it

The balance of power in squarely in West Austin in 6A Region 4 - Dripping Springs, Vandegrift, Westlake and Lake Travis are all in that outskirts area. I don’t think demographics have much to do with it, or North Shore wouldn’t be as successful. It’s definitely coaching. Will Judson ever return to even regional prominence again? Can Brennan, Steele, Johnson and Reagan improve just enough to contend with that Austin quadrant? We have the numbers. San Antonio schools outnumber Austin by number of districts.
