After defeating C.C. Miller last night 15-2. Ex-Alice Coyote HC Victor Escamilla (1999-2015) reaches the 400 win plateau. He coached (Alice) them to back to back Region IV Finals in 1999-2000, Region Semifinalist (2001), Regional Quarterfinals (2008 & 2009), Area Finalist (2002, 2007, 2010, & 2013) & Bi-District Finalist (2011). Only missing the playoffs in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2011, 2014 & 2015. Left Alice for San Antonio Reagan as a Pitching Coach from 2016 to 2017 I’m not too sure before taking the Canyon Lake Baseball HC gig. Not only is he a great baseball coach he’s also a heckuva teacher (educator). “I tip my hat” to One of the GOAT’s of High School Baseball in the Coastal Bend

Looking back on my high school days .. its pretty cool to know i was part of almost 80 of those wins.. years 2000,2001,2002,2003.. if not mistaken each year other then 2003 we had over 20 wins. crazy thing 2003 we were 19-10 and didnt make the playoffs got 4th place in a tough district. back then.

Mainly the 1999 season was the beginning for Escamilla when they had Garza, Pruneda, Crews, The Escobar’s & that STRONG 1999 Senior Class we were ONE game away of going to the State Tournament & same in 2000 despite losing the whole team from the “Class of 99” squad with Cruz, Garza & Pruneda. 2001 we were one game of going for a Region IV Final “3 Peat” till Smithson Valley was the roadblock that year. 2002 was a good year despite losing a number of starters that season. I know that 2003 season we were deep with seniors on that roster & we should’ve made the playoffs till G-P & R-F came back to the old 31-4A again & some of the games we lost killed our chances for the 5th playoff appearance. I sure do miss the days from 1999 to 2002 tbh!

I've always had mucho respect for Coach Escamilla as a coach and a man. Alice was lucky to have him. Congratulations to him on win 400.
