Westlake 14. Guyer. 0. Guyer QB headed to Locker room. 2nd string QB hurt now? Or the 1st string QB is headed to the locker room?

Guyer has my new favorite uniforms/helmets. They look sharp.

Very unfortunate for Guyer. Hopefully that kid heals up and has a great senior season. That freshman QB took a beating. Westlake defense was stout, they have been the entire playoff run. I’m glad WL got one this year.

I’m glad WL got one this year. Very strange day as two teams who might have been favorites by some had to rely on Freshmen QBs. What I found remarkable is for two 5A schools with participation numbers which are pretty high is they had to rely on two Freshmen as their backups. You’d think they would at least have a Soph or Junior ready to go. The kid from Guyer actually looked younger than a Freshmen and he certainly has the experience now. The Duncanville kid was taking it hard post game , but I bet he will get another shot down the road.

The Injured Guyer QB is a JR and should be back next year. I would like to believe both have backups that get some playing time just in case.

Much respect to any kid that can even be on Varsity as a freshman and even more respect if he is a starter... BUT that QB from Guyer should have been replaced and replaced early. It wasn't just that he was ineffective but he also had an "i know we're gonna lose" demeanor about him and that nonsense spreads throughout the entire team when you are the QB and acting like that. I can't imagine a 6A school of that size not having other backups to turn to.

Anyway, I agree that based upon their offensive attack you’d think Guyer would have someone that could run the ball better and play QB. The kid from North Shore is a Jr. ... now that’s scary!

As mentioned earlier I don’t see how these 6A schools do not have another Jr or even a sophomore as a backup QB. Westlake started the year rotating like 3 diff QB’s before going with the kid that played last night. Now that’s a program that has their crap together.

It also helps that Todd Dodge is kind of an expert at QB development and Westlake is QB high in Texas.

That Duncanville Freshman looked better than hell of a lot of starting QBs within the state!
