Rewatching the game after I got home, I was struck by how well the SV coverage teams played in punt and kickoff coverage. That was one of my concerns coming into the game as ACM was really good all year - a hidden key to this game.

I almost turned off this game when A&M Cons. went up 17-0 in the second. But I figured “it’s SV, they are always in a game”, and I’m glad I was right. What a comeback by the Rangers. They really clamped down on the second half, overcame some uncharacteristic first quarter mistakes, and did what they needed to do to advance. Congrats SV! Glad you pulled it out. Agree BNB! I thought SV looked a step slow early in this one and just a bit out of position as well. It didn't take long for those kids and that staff to make adjustments and start getting stops. To spot a great team like A&M 17 and come back and win it the way they did says a hell of a lot about the SV team

I do not believe there is a team in the state that plays special teams as well as SV does year in and year out. They literally make a living at it and can flip field position on damn near every one of their punts & kickoffs and just make the absolute most out of every KO and punt they receive. It is a joy to watch except when I'm watching them play Steele of Clemens. lmao

SV battled back and never quit. Championship mentality.

Agreed. I thought the #2 QB actually threw it pretty well. What they missed from the #1 QB was his legs. Kid was pretty dang good. I still would not have bet against SV even if the #1 had not had to go out.

Yea QB1 didn't cause the kickoff blunder that was going out of bounds, or the two sideline penalties, or the personal foul for kicking kids in the pile. Consol had their chances but like normal against teams that are disciplined their undisciplined ways tend to show out more.

QB1 had the offense moving pretty well, making a lot of dynamic plays, passes on the run etc. Pretty sure they didn't score with QB2. I think they score at least 1 more time with QB1, he is QB1 for a reason. I picked SV to win, but think Aledo was more accurate in his prediction baring the injury. Note - SV did what they had to do and was still an impressive comeback.
