CCVM defense played certainly well enough to win. Offense just not good enough

CC Vets goes down to Brownsville Vets. Is this the beginning of the end for CCVM as a perineal deep playoff team. Is this where reality starts to set in and EVERYONE realizes they are just another CCISD Program?

It’s the helmets. That ain’t Vets out there. 🤪
The brand was made in silver.
Jk, mostly. 😬
But what I saw as the issue all season long is that Vets has a pocket passer but still runs an offense for a dual threat qb. It’s just not set up for him to excel. The entire premise of the Vets offense is set up by having a running threat at qb. The dual threat at qb sets up the run and the pass. Without that, it’s much harder to do everything.
Need to adjust the offense around his skill set if he’s going to be the dude going forward.

Vets had a history early on of just tapping the best athlete on the shoulder and saying... "you're qb". Soto wasn't exactly an excellent thrower... but his mobility made everything easier for him. It's much easier to hit a receiver who is wide open because the db's are thinking you're going to run (and their eyes are crossed trying to decide what they need to do each play). But anyhoo. Vets has some issues that need to be addressed going forward. Johnson and Sabsook are gone. Who is going to fill their shoes as playmakers?

It really is that simple

It really is that simple Vets will likely go the way of the old Carroll. Always in the mix , on years and off years.
