One thing I always liked about coach D and something I do with my teams is he never gave the other team bulletin board material. He may have always under played how good they were, but he never out right said a team sucked or that they would just roll over a team. He always made sure the kids interviewed also stayed on the straight and narrow with what they said. That's something I can't stand is giving the opponent a reason to get more fired up! I posted a rant on Facebook about our women's national soccer team. They gave every nation a reason to play aggressively and to beat them. Those stupid commercials talking about how they are unstoppable, and only through cheating or time travel could they lose... Every country could see those and wanted to knock them down a notch. Coaches like coach D are definitely predictable with their comments, but in the end, he let the product on the field do the talking. I recall a time or two he said Robstown and TM would give us trouble and....... they rolled over like a puppy. LOL! Of course there was the 2008 season when he said that was going his best team and they ended 9-4 or something like that. The US womens soccer team had other reason to cheer against them too. Meagan Rapione was a toxic influence on the kids on that team. Good thing that want to be Alpha Dog is retired now. He convinced us that South San was gonna smoke us back in ‘03. The internet isn’t what it is today so we didn’t know any better. It was something like 49-0 at halftime. The Grand Old Man of Calallen had a way with worrisome words.

Hey Booger. Glad your back. You going to any games FB or calallen? I dunno, I have really enjoyed catching them online at home. I may catch a Flour Bluff game. Short drive from the island.

Read in a Calallen community page that the Cats looked solid in their scrimmage with Carroll. Offense put up four scores and the defense pitched a shutout. Anyone know if that sounds right? Doesn’t really matter. It’s all vanilla right now and Carroll is probably predictably bad

Calallen had 6 possessions in 1v1... scored on 2, Carroll stopped 4. Carroll had 4 possessions in 1v1... Cal stopped em all.

Who really gives a rats ass about a scrimmage. Good coaching staffs either already know what they have and some don't even play a majority of their projected starters.
They're looking at the kids that may be able to contribute or have a chance to be a starter.

But Calallen looked better last night against Carroll than last year. So either Calallen is going to be ok or Carroll has a lot to worry about right now.

I watched five minutes of the Cowboys and Jags yesterday and decided to take a nap.

In my personal opinion, Calallen has some very athletic skill position players. RB #24 looked great, RB #40 looked great, RB #25 looked great too. Qb's looked good. Linebackers and D Line are also great. D backs covered well... we didn't have any dudes running wide open at any point... all passes were contested. Calallen's O Line looked decent, too. That's a pretty good team y'all have out there. This week Vets is on the scrimmage schedule... so the result there should be a pretty good indication of where both teams are at thus far. Recent history says those are the 2 best programs in South Texas at the 4A+ level.

Can’t teach size, but big and sloppy isn’t very useful imo.

They have layed more eggs in the playoffs than KFC has killed chickens. Over 60% of their wins are against RGV and CCISD teams they raped for their talent. Stop talking out of your southern orifice.
