Thanks bro. Boerne blew it! Damn. Slow evening here. Was still pretty warm here. 5-6 does & fawns and 8-9 small bucks. Biggest was a 3 yr old 10 point about 130". Damn slow for the stand I went to!! Next week will be hunting weather. Oh yeah But I've become a sissy and anything below 45 degrees requires a blind heater!! And antifreeze!! Hahaha

And Boerne got really conservative in the 3rd quarter. Completely out coached. In the 2nd half, China Springs acted like they’d been there before and wanted to win. Boerne acted like they were trying not to lose. They did the same against us despite their lead. If we don’t fumble on our second drive of the second half , the momentum shift is real and it’s a two score game. Yup I’d agree with that. I felt like that fumble killed it. It was an odd game that everything that could go wrong went wrong.

Going to 11 am game and hopefully spend the whole day there, you can go out and come back without paying again just 25 dollars parking it's to cold to walk 15 minutes from home to stadium. Got called in to work yesterday evening so missed the Franklin/Brock game. Texans uphill battle for respect and 3 pm game Boerne going to roll China Spring. Night cap is going to be packed South Oak Cliff game saw them last year against Liberty hill. From Professor Matt Diggs: I don't want to be too critical of #UILState - because there are a lot of things I like about how things have progressed over the last few years. This is a beautiful stadium and this is a well run situation. Everything is done top flight, well organized and well run. BUT... Maybe there will be some evidence to share why I'm wrong - and maybe I am, but I think #UILState has really priced a lot of the casual fans out of coming to experience this. Parking is $25 bucks. We know how much concessions are. Even admission tickets have gone up in price..

We know how much concessions are. Even admission tickets have gone up in price.. The Professor is correct. Not to mention if the fan has to travel from points faraway, throw in the cost of gas, meals, lodging. It’s easily in 2022 dollars for a family of four a $500 or more experience. Of course if a fan has a kid or relative involved in some capacity, they know that person is likely to spend it by spending disposable cash or more than likely put it on credit. I have never, ever bought the argument the UIL loses money if they move it to San Antonio or Houston. The UIL has made its bank on the TV contract with Bally and what was then Fox Sports SW. If they are guaranteed $ 1 million for the TV rights, they’d make that same $1 million if the game was played anywhere from Dalhart to Brownsville or El Paso to Orange. The revenues generated by the facility in concessions, tickets, and parking are a small percentage of that pie the UIL gets and large part goes to turn the lights on and staff Jerryworld. And of course Jerry is making a handsome cut off the concession revenue. Herring from Refugio took some incoming the other day by pointing out the short comings of the current championship structure. He had a right to be ticked because the UIL didn’t let him practice on Sunday this time around giving him one less practice than Hawley because of travel. This on top of playing at a ridiculous time of day. Some of these repeat teams from the north need to feel this along with the expenses and maybe , just maybe they might have a different perspective on this. I know the state sports media doesn’t give a flip. They just fill out their expense reports and it’s taken care for them by Bally of DCTF magazine.

I found it funny when they interviewed a UIL VP they talked about waterpolo, robotics etc and then bragged about the first class facility. I’m still trying to figure out where all this money goes they make? And in closing, we from down south discuss the change of the big game every year If you talking heads and other “Jerry’s World is such an experience “ can’t see the lack of whats fair then the UIL will continue as they do opt ups

So much of their leadership has very little ties to any school south of 1-10 to include the San Antonio area. The UIL athletic director made her career in the DFW area which includes Allen. The Legislative council is void of significant representation from the same region. I’m to the point where I think the state ought to split the state into north and south and let us play for sectional championships. I really think if the DFW area could persuade the UIL to move basketball and baseball championships, they would. They already have volleyball in addition to football. They’d probably try to get state band up there too.
I’ve been curious for awhile when the last time the UIL went under the microscope or it really ever has by the Legislature. It’s under the University of Texas umbrella which means the oversight might be largely left to the UT Austin leadership and the UT Board of Regents.

Congrats to CS on another title and to Boerne for a great season.
The turn around CS made after halftime is why they have won multiple titles.

However I think they lose 4 or the 5 of the O-linemen and few a key playmakers on defense. That line was THE key to their QB's success. When he got pressure put on him, it took him out of his rhythm. That's not to say being a year older next fall, he won't mature in other areas. Bluff will be in better spot next year playing them at home plus a year of experience for some underclassmen.

They did rotate some guys in deep in the playoffs to give them experience against tough competition, but they have an off-season and some change to get a 2023 line together. The two biggest players on the lines were only sophomores, 65 Schram (6’6 310) and 75 Bays (6’4” 280) so they’ll still have some size to deal with.

Graduation is something all teams have to deal with. FB won't be the same team either but it was a good competitive game this year and I expect the same next time. As gets said repeatedly good competition is essential to make a deep playoff run. Looking forward to it.

Congrats to CS on another title and to Boerne for a great season. The turn around CS made after halftime is why they have won multiple titles. That was a heck of a game. I saw one penalty on Boerne late in the 4th where they converted and it was called back. Had that not been a penalty then Boerne is kicking that winning field goal. I also strongly think that CS with the experience of being in multiple big ballgames and a gauntlet of a regular season schedule played into their win. Not a big squad but very salty with no quit. Congrats CS on the dub and congrats Boerne on a great season. I don’t think Boerne is going anywhere soon.
