Well shoot that ain’t good. Maybe I’ll stay on the Navy base and make the drive in for the game. meh Pick out a campground on the island. It doesn't take but 30 minutes to get back to Calallen from there. We used to stay at my cousin's house on the water each year for the 3rd round games we played in Corpus and it only took us 20 minutes to get to Buc or Cabiness so about 10 more and you can be in Calallen unless you drive like my father-in-law and in that case maybe an hour! The RV park on base is on the water and closer to Calallen than the island. Likely cheaper too. Black Diamond is just a few blocks outside the main gate.

They are more expensive than they used to be... Up in this area we have Bush's Chicken and it's ok, but can't compare in taste or size to Chicken Shack, and they cost a small fortune too... Everywhere is expensive now. I went to Whataburger for my lunch last night(I work graveyards hours) and ordered a grill chicken sandwich combo and they said that'll be $19.52 lol, I just want 1 and still said the same amount. Got to drive thru window and she punch it in wrong. thought price of chicken had gone way up

I wouldn't camp anywhere in those areas. The closest I would get to camp is Lake Corpus State Park in Mathis. Well shoot that ain’t good. Maybe I’ll stay on the Navy base and make the drive in for the game. Although it depends on your definition of camping lol.... Calallen/Annaville have some good RV parks, but for roughing it in a tent style, there are not any good places for that. Anything by the river is closed to camping, plus the Gators will come right into you tent.....

Sea Breeze RV Community/Resort in Portland is on the water and has club house and heated pool and dog walk among other things, Otto Schuster and Dora Schuster that own and operate it are nice people and Otto may take you for a ride in his old corvette convertible.

Got to drive thru window and she punch it in wrong. thought price of chicken had gone way up It almost cost $10 for Whataburger meal with cheese.... And the quality at some has kind of gone down since Private Equity in Chicago took majority control. I'm going up to Austin next weekend and I'm going to try P Terry's on the way up there in San Marcos. Seems like they are expanding their brand to compete with In and Out and Whataburger. And they are truly 100% Texas based.

Last time I took my family tent camping was in July several years ago. Set up the tents in ants (unknowingly), ROASTED our arses off, lasted one night and that was enough for me. I’ve been pulling a camper for a couple years now and that’s the only way I do it now. I’d love to be able to drive down and set up close to the stadium but I’ll set up further out if I need to.

I’ll check it out we love the pet friendly spots even though my dogs are butt heads the wife likes to take them.

Used to eat there when I was a younger guy when it was next to the strip club. Glad they opened it back up again. The oysters have never disappointed me and I’ve always like the atmosphere.

Yeah when we were younger and fished most Saturdays as soon as the boat, fishing stuff and us were cleaned up we hit the old Black Diamond. Mostly go for lunch after church now to the new one.

New one has choices other than fried food. When its cooler the outside beer garden and live music is awesome

So the closest RV park for that would be Calallen Country Living. It is small but good. It is on 624 across from County Road 73A. So that's a 7-10 minute drive to the stadium. The other one that is good off highway 77, is Reeds RV park. It's 8-12 minutes away from the stadium. Stay away from Evelyn's RV park! I lived there as a kid in the 80s and very little has changed in 42 years...
