Harker Heights is a solid team Their only loss was 27-28 to Odessa Permian. They beat a solid SV team 27-13 and the 27 they scored on them is pretty impressive because although SV doesn't have a great offense this year they do have a solid defense. SV has 2 shutout wins and nobody else has gotten over 13 on them this year and that was Wagner & 6a SA Reagan. Reagan just beat Madison 55-10 last Friday!
And this past week they beat Hutto by 2 scores as well.

Very, very much so Steele went into their house and kicked their teeth in and then the very next week they came into Judson's house and whooped the Rockets.

Week 8 games Hutto @ Temple Weiss @ Bryan Midway @ Cove Harker Heights Bye

Boy was I wrong on the best game in the BCS area. Should have gone to College Station Vs Glenn. But here's the weekly rundown for district 12 6A.
Temple 32 Hutto 27 Weiss 38 Bryan 13 Midway 24 Cove 21
I attended the Bryan game. The Normal Starting QB is Back but his playing Shared snaps right now coming back from that dislocated thumb. There is a huge difference when he is in the game. He is a true dual threat and is electric on the run. Still Weiss had the better team. They have several kids that can really go with the ball in their hands. The speed difference was very noticeable. The game got away from the Vikings in the 4th quarter.
Looking at the scoreboard for the other two Games they looked very competitive.
Standings
Temple 4-0 Harker Heights 3-0 Midway 2-2 Weiss 2-2 Bryan 2-1 Cove 0-3 Hutto 0-3
Week 9 Games Bryan @ Midway Temple @ Heights Cove @ Hutto Weiss open
Looks like the week for everything to get separated from top to bottom. I have Temple @ Heights as the game of the week and possible District Championship game. Cove and Hutto play to avoid ending up in the cellar.

Some news I heard today is that Bryan ISD MAY be looking to add a new HS on the west side of town. For those familiar with the area, it would be out somewhere around the Rellis Campus on Hwy 47 and 21. This is strictly rumor right now and I haven't heard when this could happen (no bond yet), but it would affect at least Bryan HS which is on the smaller side of 6A right now.

Man Heights is the talk of the area for sure. They are going to play Temple for the district title. Temple has been inconsistent this season, but they've played a tough schedule... Hutto has fallen short of what I expected out of them.

Hutto has fallen short of what I expected out of them. Tepper picked Harker Heights to beat Temple this week. I'm not so sure. Think I'm going Temple, Bryan, Hutto this week. Could go 3-0 or 0-3 but that's HS Foorball.

Week 9 results: Bryan 50 Midway 21
Harker Heights 13 Temple 9
Hutto 49 Cove 31
I went 2-1 this week but was wrong on the Temple Game.
Standings Harker Heights 4-0 Temple 4-1 Bryan 2-2 Weiss 2-2 Midway 2-3 Hutto 1-3 Cove 0-4
Week 10 games Hutto @ Bryan Heights @ Cove Midway @ Weiss Temple bye
Taking Bryan, Heights, Midway this week. Safe to say Heights and Temple will be 1 and 2 in that order. But the fight for the remaining 2 spots between everyone else except Cove. They are out.

Yep unless Heights has a let down 2 weeks in a row, they win the district. They came back from 9-0 to win it vs Temple. Should be interesting come playoff time.

I knew they were solid early in season when they put a whoopin on Smithson Valley!!!

Now curious to see how well Heights can do in a playoff run. Solid team. With that district, they usually have early exits because they typically play the DeSoto or Longview districts in the 1st round.....

Top 4 in District top 4 in District 11 as of right now are: DeSoto, Duncanville, Mansfield, Lake Ridge. If this holds true the D1s will be Duncanville and DeSoto. Leaving Mansfield and Lake Ridge in D2 For District 12 Temple could go d1 or 2 depending on who gets the 3&4 spots. Bryan is the third largest enrollment in the district. They are bigger than both Temple and Harker heights. They would need both Midway and Hutto to make the playoffs to avoid D1 and a matchup with DVille or DeSoto. With Heights and Temple pretty much locked in Bryan would be a lock for D1. Bryan plays Hutto this week and Heights Next week. Need both wins to secure a playoff spot.

Given Temple's reputation for intentionally losing to avoid certain playoff matchups, it'll be an interesting next 2 weeks. You can bet Temple wants to stay D2... they'll make sure 2 schools bigger than them make it...
