Well the MLB season has officially been delayed as the lockout deadline has passed on Feb 28th.
Ive been a die hard baseball fan since I was a kid, but the last few seasons I haven't even bothered to watch the Rangers or even read much news on them. From political actions, CBA talks I just don't care as much anymore, and the new Rangers stadium looks like an ugly BBQ grill. MLB had a chance to make a big push during the 2020 covid mess but they chose to argue amongst themselves while other sports leagues put together plans to have a full or 3/4 season. Then the whole Astros cheating scandal that basically went unpunished.
I'll just move on to watching College, Minors, and Independent baseball games for now.

I agree. Not watching ANY professional Baseball anymore. There is plenty College and HS Baseball around me to fully satisfy my desires to watch baseball and none of my money will go into the pockets of Greedy Professionals that care nothing about the fans.

There is plenty College and HS Baseball around me to fully satisfy my desires to watch baseball and none of my money will go into the pockets of Greedy Professionals that care nothing about the fans. The owners are just as guilty as the players, Both sides are to blame for this lockout fiasco. They had all winter to reach a deal and it was not until the last couple of weeks did they really start to negotiate terms. I honestly don't think a new deal will really fix anything till MLB and the MLBPA realize they need a team salary cap and minimum team cap. Some of the richest MLB owners spend the bare minimum on their team's salary and facilities. Oakland plays in a dump with one of the lowest team payroll and their owner John Fisher is worth $2.6 billion and won't spend a dime more than necessary to field a team or even upfit his stadium without public funds. Its the same in Pittsburg, Cleveland, and Baltimore they just happen to have nice stadiums. How can you have competaiive balance when you have a team spending $200 million more than your lowest spending team. The NFL has about a $30 million gap between the highest and lowest spending teams. sports.betmgm.com/en/blog/nfl-teams-highest-payroll-2021-bm05/The NBA is about $90 million dollar difference. www.spotrac.com/nba/cap/MLB 2021 team payroll 1 Los Angeles Dodgers $235,412,876 2 New York Yankees $191,205,631 3 Boston Red Sox $180,261,996 24 Oakland Athletics $74,615,000 25 Seattle Mariners $64,553,500 26 Tampa Bay Rays $60,388,600 27 Miami Marlins $49,425,000 28 Cleveland Indians $46,833,300 29 Baltimore Orioles $45,701,135 30 Pittsburgh Pirates $35,905,000 www.fueledbysports.com/mlb-payrolls/

In all honesty.........who cares anymore.
They are ALL a bunch of spoiled, overpaid brats.
And that goes for NBA, NFL, & MLB!!
I honestly had to force myself to watch the super bowl simply because I went to a friends house for a party.

In all honesty.........who cares anymore. They are ALL a bunch of spoiled, overpaid brats. And that goes for NBA, NFL, & MLB!! I honestly had to force myself to watch the super bowl simply because I went to a friends house for a party. Pretty much on target... The only interest I have in the NFL is the Cowboys. That is just in my DNA and whether they sucked or won it all, I 've always watched them even if it becomes background noise while I'm doing something productive like take a nap on a Sunday afternoon. The rest of it I could give a flying flip about now a days in part to overzealous rules makers and their enforcers in stripes on the field taking many of the elements out of the game that made it what it used to be. And when the Refs really do mess up, the lack of instant accountability vs what they hold the players and coaches to is hypocritical to the max! Even when you have players themselves who are on the better end of the rules such as QB's complaining about it because they see the negative consequences for their team, you have a problem. MLB lost me for the most part years ago after their last prolonged strike.... That season was a record breaking season on so many levels.... .. I mean the Expos were winning the NL East and had the best record in the MLB for crying out loud... The Astros were tied in the NL Central and the Rangers were up in the AL West in late August and poof... This on top of stupid things like keeping Pete Rose out of the HOF and other things they've done has pretty much limited my desire to watch much. I mean I used to be glued to WGN and TBS to watch the Braves and Cubs back in the day. The NBA lost me after that farce of a playoff series in 2002 0r 2003 between the Lakers and Spurs. The officiating was soooooooo slanted and the Commissioner when questioned would just blow it off sealed the deal with me with that league. Everyone knew the NBA wanted to Lakers in there for TV ratings. I've been to one NBA game in San Antonio since then because the family wanted to go post Christmas and I got out voted as I wanted to just go hang out in the sticks around a camp fire drinking Shiner and shooting the bull. None of this is going to stop until fans stop funding it... They ***** and complain, but yet they go to Academy or wherever and buy their favorite teams merchandise and guys like Jerry Jones laugh all the way to the bank. "You say you hate me and wish I would croak, but you are still buying my stuff you suckers." They pay over face value for tickets so much that now the leagues partner up with secondary ticket market... And most of all, whenever one of the above leagues demands an existing team build a new arena/stadium or risk losing their team and a vote to use public money (taxes) is put on the ballot. Nine times out ten they pass. Got to keep up with the Jones and if your metro area doesn't have at least one pro franchises, it feels left out.

The piss poor attitudes and behavior of professional athletes have killed my interest in the NFL and MLB recently. Can't remember how long the NBA has been dead for me. Sadly college football is slipping fast with their thuggery.

Football will be next already losing interest year by year. None of the Pro Games have the Heart and Love of the Games as High School Kids do anyway.

I don't have any issues with employees(players) getting paid as much as they are worth or a business(teams owners) trying to maximize profits. But when it starts to drive away your customer base aka the fans then I have a problem.
If the common fan making $10 cant afford to attend a live game or buy a cable package to watch on tv, and the league fails to address pace of play, outdated rules, like adding the DH in both leagues or limiting the shift. Then it deserves to fail.
Also, don't tell me a player is an all-star when he's batting .215 and striking out three times a game. I'm looking at you, Joey Gallo.

Sports isn't the same anymore and I hate the, "back in my day everything was better", people so this isn't about that. Athletes are way better than when I was young no doubt. Bigger, faster, stronger, quicker, more athletic - they are just physically better at everything. But what ruins it is their REASONS for playing the game. Players (unfortunately even all the way down to youth) seem to care more about what they look like in their uniform on gameday than they care about the winning. I ranted on this on my STXB page and also on a video a few months ago and immediately got attacked by all the Miller fans and Miller lovers and twin brothers that don't even coach at Miller lol. They apparently live in a "Miller bubble" where they think only their players swag out the uniforms. Nope. Almost everyone does it. It's annoying. And this isn't about, "get off my lawn", I just really think it takes away from what your love for the game should actually be - about representing your program not yourself.

I'm not talking about practice or your personal time but on GAMEDAY to be on the sidelines with a backwards cap just looks unprofessional in my opinion. But hey, at least some of the kids will think those coaches are cool.

He would say “Only baseball catchers or welders should wear their caps backwards “. I agree
