Well the news came in after practice yesterday. Wasn’t any fanfare, and my son said he could get booted to JV at anytime. I’m pretty sure he was the last one chosen (he got his jersey the day after everyone else) and it could have gone either way… but I have myself a sophomore varsity Carroll Tiger at this moment! Who knows if it’ll stick or not. So with that, I’ll let all these argument die and move on from defending my first son’s school on here. CC Veterans Memorial will ALWAYS have a very special place in my heart. Now it’s time for Carroll to make its own place in my heart too. Just remember THIS comment. Nothing wrong with being a fanatic fan. All any of us would just like you to keep it real. Just accept a loss without telling us the what if’s. By the way, I hope your son has a great season. I’d bet he’d rather play every game and down than ride the bench on varsity Yeah, the reps on JV are all kinds of fun. But making varsity is also an honor. Well see if it sticks, and I know hell give his best effort even if it’s just one or two plays a game.

Going to put this here. Since ccwarcat is good with his district being 300-600 smaller in enrollment. It would be only fair it OPT Vets up to 6A and let them play in a district with Steele, Judson, Clemens, Wagner and the like. I mean If 300 to 600 is really no different, let's see the shoe on the other foot. The reason I'm good with the opt-ups is because they are local. If the savings can be put towards receiver gloves, or cleats, or extra pads... or heck even food for our local kids, I'm all for it. Nobody, and I mean nobody wants to travel 2+ hours in a long distance district... heck, I know of a few families who have died... they are no longer on this Earth because someone once thought it was a good idea to have a district spread across all God's creation. That valley drive is brutal... especially at midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am after team dinner. Stop it Yes that is sad that you knew someone killed that was traveling for a game but it happens each and every day on Texas roads and the fact is MOST are killed within 10 miles of their own home so get out of here with a BS excuse like that. Furthermore, the only CCISD team that would have been traveling would have been Vets and that would have been to SA for district games. And don't even try to bring up any other BS travel excuses about that because your coach scheduled NBC for a non-district game which means they'll be traveling there once these next 2 years for a meaningless district game. The bottom line is CCISD SCREWED over all their schools for the benefit of 1 and in the process SCREWED over a bunch of solid SA area 5a D1 schools as well. And the WORST part about the whole BS deal is they SCREWED over Region 4 from having any shot at competing in the state semi finals the next 2 years!

What the school does and what she does are nunya... and all completely within their power.

EXACTLY WRONG!Complaining from ALL the parents with kids playing sports at Ray, Carroll, King, Miller, & Moody to the administration and calling for their heads for screwing their kids over is exactly what should be happening! One school of 6 is the ONLY one getting ANY benefit from the chickenchit move of CCISD. Along with that your district absolutely screwed over the SA area schools pushed into district 12! But, I guess that doesn't matter to you at all, right? As long as CCVM benefited from it anyway! I cannot believe you have a son playing at Carroll and have no problem with this. You will if somehow they win the region and face a D1 team in the semis from R3!!!!!!

You will if somehow they win the region and face a D1 team in the semis from R3!!!!!! Apathy is chronic condition in Corpus especially with the ISD. There are some glimmers of hope at least on the city side of things that I would have not said 5 years ago. But the ISD still has a lot of work to do including the cleanup of the shenanigans involved in the new Carroll build and getting rid of the decision makers like the ones who think it's a good idea to pool schools that have barely above the 5A cutoff with schools that have double or more their enrollments potentially in the football playoffs... But they got the CC Warcats like thirsty dogs slurping up that bowl of water believing it's more beneficial to keep them all together over there. Slurp on CC Warcat! Corpus is a city of close to 350K, but in so many ways it still has a good ol' boys/gals club like old South Texas small town politics . As we get more move ins from other areas that will continue to dwindle... But it's exhibit one for wanting to exit in three years.

Vets for FOOTBALL only would've had three to four road games to SA or the RGV and that's it. All the other CCISD's, GP and FB would've been in one district for everything else along with possibly the Victoria's. Funny thing is the school he now supports has two opponents on their non district schedule who are 2.5 hour drives from Carroll High School. So much for saving money on road trips for for cleats, extra pads or even food for the local kids.

Exactly I didn't even think about them having to go travel now simply because CCISD just had to have their schools in one district! So, let me see if I have this right now. CCISD screwed over 5 of their schools so that the precious little darling school doesn't have to travel to SA 3 or 4 times each year to play district games. CCISD screwed over 8 SA area schools pushing them into R3 by opting up 5 of their schools. CCISD screwed over both GP & FB forcing them to travel to the RGV for district games as well as forcing 4 RGV schools to travel to the CB for district games. CCISD screwed over all of R4 making it once again weak sauce in 5a D1 when compared to the rest of the state when we could have had at least 2 or 3 legit teams in it!

The Primadonna's deserve another embarrassing trip to the woodshed.

I'll bet money the UIL won't allow all these opt ups for them in the next realignment. It should have happened for this one.
