You and the other dude don't decide what great is. This stupid idea you guys have in your head that there can't be 2 great teams in a season because only 1 wins the title is dumb as hell. You and the other dude don't decide what great is. and the other dude don't set the rules for what a great team is just because your programs have state titles. You're right! The "other dude" and I dont decide what great is. Being great for the most part is defined by the accomplishments of all the teams in txhsfb history. What do certain teams accomplish that others dont? What is the overall record compared to others? What is considerably above the average? Like I said that '67 Alice team might be great for their program history but not in txhsfb history. You state opinions as fact. Get back to me when you understand the difference.

Dont worry Chino, its all good.

Going to put this here. Since ccwarcat is good with his district being 300-600 smaller in enrollment. It would be only fair it OPT Vets up to 6A and let them play in a district with Steele, Judson, Clemens, Wagner and the like. I mean If 300 to 600 is really no different, let's see the shoe on the other foot.

If the savings can be put towards receiver gloves, or cleats, or extra pads... or heck even food for our local kids, I'm all for it. Nobody, and I mean nobody wants to travel 2+ hours in a long distance district... heck, I know of a few families who have died... they are no longer on this Earth because someone once thought it was a good idea to have a district spread across all God's creation. That valley drive is brutal... especially at midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am after team dinner.

Unfortunately, that happens every year despite how far the games are. I knew a family killed in a crash returning to Aransas Pass after a game in Rockport. Point is You don't want that because you know the easy schedule would be over. Vets would be just another CCISD TEAM. Just proves how much of a hypocrite you really are.

I don’t have a Vets kid anymore, and I’m still for keeping the schools together. Now if the sizes change drastically enough so they can’t opt up schools within the rules… then yes of course, split them up. I’m guessing you’re one of those guys that would tell me to throw those fish back (within my bag limit) because nobody needs that much fish, right?

Spare some of us the troubles with traveling 2 plus hours and this is all due respect to people who have lost friends or loved ones. Cal, Alice, FB, GP, PLC among others have been doing it for years for district games on top of some non district games. We are not far removed from a district where we had to go to Floresville, SA Southside, PLC and Somerset which are 1 1/2 to 2 hours. And then have a similar set up for non football sports and activities with us having to go to Laredo for some of those games. This year Cal makes a two hour drive to Zapata though some pretty dangerous backroads, Cuero (non district) , and down to La Feria. FB and GP are playing in a RGV dominated district. The worse case if the CCISD would have played the game right is Vets in D1 would've had three, maybe four FOOTBALL district games to the RGV or SA and that's it. All the CCISD's not named Vets along with FB and GP would've been in a single district for everything else. All your non district games could've been against your CCISD teams to save on travel Good grief you are spoiled.

You make it sound like this area is out in the middle of the fricken Big Bend for crying outloud where Alpine or Fort Stockton has to drive 3, 4 or maybe 5 hours for a district game. Two hours is nothing. Two hours up a four lane interstate to SA is nothing. Two hours down a four lane highway to the Valley is nothing.

I the guy that hates seeing kids get Cheated the way CCISD does it. and people that thinks it OK. Even at the expense of THEIR OWN KID.

If there’s something I REALLY know more about than you is fishing. Use any other analogy than this. Oh and you’re out past left field

Soon as that advantage is taken away you look for any excuse for it not to happen. I knew this would be the case. And you know what CCISD is doing is Unfair to 5 other schools. You agree with it because it plays to your advantage.

Well the news came in after practice yesterday. Wasn’t any fanfare, and my son said he could get booted to JV at anytime. I’m pretty sure he was the last one chosen (he got his jersey the day after everyone else) and it could have gone either way… but I have myself a sophomore varsity Carroll Tiger at this moment! Who knows if it’ll stick or not.
So with that, I’ll let all these argument die and move on from defending my first son’s school on here.
CC Veterans Memorial will ALWAYS have a very special place in my heart. Now it’s time for Carroll to make its own place in my heart too.

Nothing wrong with being a fanatic fan. All any of us would just like you to keep it real. Just accept a loss without telling us the what if’s. By the way, I hope your son has a great season. I’d bet he’d rather play every game and down than ride the bench on varsity
