Based on end of the year rankings 2-5A D1 had the highest average ranking.....1-7 its top to bottom a really strong group be interested to see when our pre-season rankings come out how things shake out...I'd imagine 2,3 10, 11 and 12 will be the contenders although 7 is sneaky good especially if Tyler takes the leap forward that we think they can take

It's going to be brutal. One of if not the strongest Districts in 5A1. My Opinion. Anybody want to take a stab at top 3 5A1 and Bottom 3 5A1 districts in the State. I'Ve been looking. Can't quite make up my mind. I’ll give it a go… Top Three: District 11 - Toughest District 3 District 10
Bottom Three: District 9 - Weakest District 14 District 16Very hard to argue any of these. 6 is a pretty tough district to but just doesn't have the contenders that 11 & 3 do. 12 may also be pretty tough as well depending what SV, Wagner, Champion, & Hays bring this year.

Then it's just how define "best district" is it the district w/the most contenders but also has some bottom feeders (ie District 3) or is it the district with seven playoff caliber teams in District 2?

I agree but IMO a little of both. Yes, top to bottom all seven teams within D2 will be fighting it out, but I don’t see any making it to the Regional Final. Five and maybe 6 of the 8 within D11 are playoff contenders and 2 or 3 could be Region 3 contenders. Same with D10. I do agree that D3 is very top heavy!

No idea what the definition is on this one. We'd have to ask Hh maybe how he is looking at it or how TWF is looking at it. If I use my same formulas as I did ranking the teams in the other threads for just last year, -.5 for missing playoffs, 1 for 1st round, 2 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, 4 for 4th, 5 for semis, 10 for finals, and 16 for winning a title, this is how the districts play out below: Rank | District | Average team | #1 (Toughest) | 11 | 4.94 | #2 | 2 | 4.07 | #3 | 15 | 2.31 | #4 | 3 | 2.28 | #5 | 8 | 1.78 | #6 | 6 | 1.56 | #7 | 10 | 1.50 | #8 | 14 | 1.44 | #9 | 1 | 1.42 | #10 | 7 | 1.31 | #11 | 13 | 1.00 | #12 | 5 | .94 | #13 | 12 | .56 | #14 | 4 | .22 | #15 | 16 | -.07 | #16 (weakest) | 9 | -17 |

District 11 is pretty top heavy as well if you really dig into it (and obviously I have the advantage of knowing returning lettermen, starters and JV records etc)....I dont see that loaded depth in the middle of the district this year on paper
The two College Station schools are top ten type teams pre-season...while Cedar Park is a top 25 type squad and Georgetown is top 50 (Georgetown got hit pretty hard by graduation).....East View and Glenn are moving up from D2 where they've been pretty average while Hendrickson is still recovering from getting gutted by Weiss and Leander...well God bless em

I'm mainly focused on the top of the district. Both College Station and Consol will be at the top. CP Should be right there with them. I'm thinking 14 points in the three games where these 3 match up will be as big of a win as it can get. Question is who will grab the 4th playoff spot. The more I look at it the more these 3 teams separate from the others. These three all have a legit shot at the state Semis and would absolutely destroy the Region 4 rep. Georgetown looks like the best of the rest, but they better not take EV lightly. How the rest finish won't matter but I do believe there could be an upset or two if the top teams have any kind of letdown or injury issues.

This year in D11 will definitely be one where you can’t take a team for granted or it will come back to bite you in the arse!!

They should be the 4 seed IMO. BUT that don't mean I think the other games will be easy wins for them. EV Might have something to say about that. If the top 3 don't take care of their business someone could rain on their parade as well. I agree with Matt. Leander is the only real non-threat I see.
