Just announced Casey Thompson will start.... Kind of reminds me of where Mack Brown had to cut bait with Chance Mock in 2003 in favor of Vince Young. Chance Mock was the starter and got benched after UT got blasted by OU. Ironically a few weeks earlier UT lost to Arkansas too.

It's a UT tradition. In 67 James Street replaced Bradley and won 20 games straight. Simms vs Applewhite. Even as an Aggie fan I knew Applewhite was the better QB and he was the locker room leader. This is very true. Simms was always treated as an outsider in part I think because he came to Austin so he could get the profile he needed to get to the NFL. He really didn't embrace the fan base or culture like Applewhite did because he came from a football crazy state in Louisiana and Simms was from New Jersey where High school football is not a thing and the only football team they care about is the NY Giants. Brown probably got trapped into the family lineage thing we see with NFL QB's and their sons. Sometimes it works (see the Mannings), but often it doesn't. At the end of the day, some people have "IT" and other don't and people respond. Having said this about the Mannings, it will be interesting to see where Arch Manning ends up. Texas is one of his top targets.

At least A&M is playing like a SEC team this week. Against a patsy in New Mexico but I'll take a 34-0 win.

OU continued to look like the worse # 3 ranked team ever.

OU continued to look like the worse # 3 ranked team ever. Not Impressed with Oklahoma or their overhyped QB in Rattler.

Week three observations...
OU is the most overrated team in the top ten followed in close position by A&M and Ohio State. If Corn was half decent, they win!
A&M better get their offense figured out or they will lose this week to an upstart Arkansas team. BTW that same Colorado team they nearly lost to last week lost to Minnesota 30-0 and only had 63 Total offensive yards while allowing 441.... Aggy you do have a problem!
Penn State is back! They beat a mighty SEC opponent in an electric atmosphere.
Miami is not back and will never be back
Florida State is horrible.
Purdue almost did us a favor an relegated Norte Dame to will not qualify status for the playoff early. Add them to the overrated top ten teams above.
Texas did what they need to do against a horrible team and blew them out early and play the bench early too. Casey Thompson earned his spot.
UIW beat Texas State who gave Baylor a scare a week before. Why does Texas State even have a football program? What a waste of a prime location and area. UTSA rose to where they did in 1/10th of the time Texas State has been around as a football program.
And yes UTSA will be ranked sometime soon.

I feel a little better about Calzada after this past week but still not too confident yet. The defense shows signs that they can be really good but I want to see them play a good offense first. The O-line needs to get it figured out. Hopefully it keeps getting better this week

Defense is good but we will see how good in 2 days. Ark is playing good football right now and is tough up front on both sides of the ball. That new O-line better get tough or it'll be long day offensively. I'll take TU at home against TT by 21. The official line on the game is a joke at like 11.

UT still needs to do better with pass protection.... but Thompson is heck of a lot more mobile than Card which might make this a tad more less needed, especially when you have three solid RBs too.

Sark has shown he adapts well. Texas has absolutely blasted Tech to this point.
