What’s Miller looking like in 2021? I like CC Vets going into next season… RGV 5A, Nope, how about Calallen? Miller and Calallen both return a bunch. Miller 8/7... Calallen 8/8. Calallen will easily be better than 2020 and Miller will be better everywhere except the QB position obviously. I know this thread is supposed to be about 5a but just wanted to ask you if you see Miller going a little more to the ground game with some obviously proven RBs coming back and the QB position being a bit unknown??

Unfortunately Sharyland’s days in the sun appear to be all but over, Coach Adams became the AD and let’s just say I don’t have a whole lot of faith in his replacement, I hope he proves me wrong… Pioneer is still loaded, but you can’t lose a player like ELM and expect not to regress…

That has to be tough to watch because I really though Sharyland was ready to take the next step a few years ago. Then Pioneer stopped some of the momentum, but still thought after a few seasons of adjustments, things might get back on track.

Mission Vets went 4-1 at State 7 on 7… Beating Houston, Dallas, and Austin teams. Their one loss was a close game.

I think so. Both RBs come back and the new QB will take some time to brush up on his passing skills but he is a good runner so I feel he might be even more of a running QB than Body was. Especially at first when his passing won't be as good as it eventually will later on.

I think any O-lineman worth his salt would much rather truck a LBr run blocking that play back on his heals pass protecting any damn day! Nothing like ear-holing a scraping LBr!!

They lost 18 starters

They going to have a tough time with no returning Linemen and no AJ Gonzaque as well as having to contend with Pioneer, Mercedes and Sharyland but they got some guys that can play dont get me wrong and their defense will be a tough out

They lost 18 starters Yes incoming Junior class is loaded with Linemen and skilled players, they should still be pretty good but HOW good depends on the development at QB but we will be young and hungry.. Losing ELM and their Head Coach (promotion) is going to hurt, but I think you are going to see a more balanced attack this year and ofc both 7th and 8th grade groups went undefeated and mark my words the next closest thing to ELM in RGV is going into 8th grade next year, already got invited to major camps this summer at 6'0 170, Pioneer is going be very good in the years to come providing we can stay healthy its going to be fun, keep an eye out for ofc Graham Jr. and incoming 10th grade transfer Leo Espinosa, kid is a tough one he reminds me of Luke Padilla from 2 years ago RGV Trouble..

In your first comment you rant about how MVM is missing this and that and lost all these players and so 7 on 7 success don't mean nothing... and then in your next comment you make 500 excuses for why it won't matter that Pioneer lost everyone lol.

No i just dont buy into the 7 on 7 hype.. I love it but i dont think it translates to real football all the time, i'm glad they did well valley teams mostly rep well at state 7 on 7, Pioneer did so for several years lately but Vets is going to be another young team but their QB is back so they will be better than last year, i just dont buy into 7 on 7 hype alot, but overall the district is going to be tough every week from 1 through 5, i say the district title is wide open and its going to be someones job to take it from Pioneer but until then i say they are the slight favorite till beaten

There is a lot of move in activity in the Coastal Bend and Flour Bluff has been a pretty stable team without blue chip players. They block and tackle and I have not seen anything bad about the coaching. You let a Deon Sanders move into FB and that is all they need to be on their way to Jerry’s World.
