The Trace Adkins and Kid Rock lovers in here need to spread and stupidity around and be less obvious about why they really like hating on Miller - a team that doesn't even have any representatives in here to trigger anyone by the way. I learn nothing or gain nothing every time I come in this trucker hat forum. Maybe I'll be back in August. Done for now. Trump lost. The assumptions you make about posters on this forum are showing who the true person with the problem is. Again. Nobody was Talking about Evans or the Miller Program. Just a Coach switching jobs. And you (again) want to put race in it. It's your problem. Deal with it.

I don’t know much about 2021 Miller, but they played Vets tight in 7on7 recently.
To me, that says they’ve got good skill guys coming back (especially Adkism)... but I gotta say I don’t see Miller being a top 2 team in the district. I say they struggle to make the #4 seed, and may not be a playoff team at all.
So yes. To me, Andrew Body was that important to Miller’s success the past 2 seasons. No Body? That’s a 5-5 team at best, maybe just a 4-win team last year.

From what I saw from them offensively they may drop off slightly just because Body is gone and that kid was tremendous but they have a boatload of talent coming back besides Adkism. They have a couple RBs that should be very, very good. Defensively if they improve they could be every bit the team they were last year and maybe more.

I don't see any real reason for a big improvement on defense. Yes, some kids are older/stronger, but some are gone with graduation. The JV teams have not been good for years if I'm not mistaken. So there's not a whole lot of reason to think the defense can improve. Even if Miller's defense is marginally better, and only gives up 40 (instead of 60+ to the good teams), I don't see enough on offense to match the good teams blow for blow. Heck, Miller was a 4 or 5 loss team last year WITH Body. To me, that spells doom in 2021. We'll see.

For the Trillion time, if you take what a team does in 7 on 7 in May/ June and forecast their success in 11 on 11 in the fall, you are going to be sorely disappointed in your predictions. Do you know how many times Calallen sucked (compared to our standards) in 7 on 7 since this 7 on 7 became a thing? We'd miss the real football playoffs probably 10 out of those 15 years or barely make it. Mercedes would have beat us in round one of the playoffs the year we went to State because they beat us in 7 on 7. You do know all Miller has to do to make the 4th seed in your scenario is to beat Beeville and TM? This is assuming Calallen, Alice and PLC are the top three. I will agree Body made that offense run, but they do have enough talent coming back to be in the thick of the race with the above three.

My only concern for Miller is their JV team this past year was absolutely terrible. I’m not trying to throw shade. It’s a fact. They were literally terrible. I was told that’s because all of their talent is on varsity and that may be true but what happens when all that talent on varsity eventually graduates? There has to be development at the sub-varsity level to sustain success. Just my opinion. I hope they figure it out and continue to do well. It only makes our district stronger.

7 on 7 is not a true indicator of how good a team will be. If that’s the case and if what ccwarcat says is true, then Vets will not make the playoffs this year in that district because they barely beat Miller in 7 on 7 and would surely lose to TM and Beeville as well since Miller won’t make the playoffs. CCWarcat, do you see how crazy that sounds? Miller returns 8 on offense, 7 on defense and a host of kids that opted out playing this past year due to Covid. Miller started 4 sophomores and 1 freshman on the varsity this year on offense. That’s why the JV isn’t very good. All of those kids will be back at Miller for at least the next two years. Also, Driscoll Middle school which is Miller’s main feeder, won the City Championship this past season. They blew everyone out and went 8-0. Miller is set to be good at least for the next 5-6 years. Also I might add, my friend coaches defense for them. He said they are huge up front on both sides of the ball, had a couple of move ins in the last 2 months and he told me that Miller will be going back up to 5A after this season with the rest of the Corpus schools. I see them dominating the Corpus district again once they go back. Miller returns a lot from last year.

It will be the same 4 teams battling for the playoffs again this year, with Miller and Calallen being the front runners. Calallen is the favorite to win it and deservingly so.

Every QB in the district was a senior expect for the QB from Calallen. Everyone is in the same boat as far as it relates to a new QB. That’s what happens when kids graduate. Calhoun’s QB was a player as well. Why isn’t anyone talking about all they lost? Honestly, Miller and Calallen return the most kids from last years team. The sophomore QB at Miller is good. He will have some good pieces around him. The whole backfield is back from last year as well. I don’t know why people think Miller graduated so much. Miller was young this year.
