Sam Houston St 23 South Dakota St 21 Final Sam Houston St's last Championship was in the NAIA 1964 I could have done without losing the 10 point lead in the 4th quarter or the missed extra point.. But I'll definitely take the win. Way to go Bearkats.

I forgot to tune back in after the weather delay.
In each of the previous games Sam Houston let teams come back and stick around before closing the deal late.
What a way to win your first title by beating the two previous champs and the #1 ranked team.

Heck of a way to wrap up a very strange and tough year for them. My buddy was pretty excited to be able to be there and see them win it.

Congrats to Sammy for finally getting a football title and the first FCS/D1AA title for a state university. That in itself is kind of hard to believe.

Now they have 3 months to get ready to defend the title. It would be interesting if the FCS level went to a full spring season to give them better coverage and their own time in the spotlight. This really messes with the traditional football calendar at all levels and causes all kinds of recurring problems. I know it would never happen as most FCS teams need to play a major conference team for the big payout games. But it would be interesting to run the numbers if an ESPN or Fox would put a TV deal together just for the FCS season in the spring.

I saw an article that the spring playoff TV ratings were nothing spectacular and slightly less than the Fall '19 playoffs on TV.

There were a lot of folks that didn't know their was a spring season going on other than the HBCU'S
