Flour Bluff OL Johnny Dickson #70 commits to VA Tech over offers including A&M, OU, Arkansas and OSU among others. He mentioned something about not being able to be away from home too long or something like that. So I'm guessing he's from over there?

His Mom is in the US Navy and was stationed in Virginia for most of her early career.

His Mom is in the US Navy and was stationed in Virginia for most of her early career. They transferred here from Virginia Beach when he was in the 8th grade if I remember right.

Then I completely understand his decision to go there. It's usually not a good idea for kids to pack up and go halfway across the nation to play college ball unless they have a connection to that area. Sounds like a great choice for this young many although I would loved to have seen him as an Aggie or Longhorn and stay here.

Class Pride and Heart is on display this Spring in Hornet Country, as Hornets football takes the field for the annual Spring Football Game. The Hornets will play in the Spring Game on Thursday May 20, 2021 at Hornet Stadium. The game will be played at 5:00 PM, and will be open to the public. The Spring Football Game will also be live streamed on YouTube by students from the Flour Bluff High School Sports Information Program. This broadcast is part of class project to help our students apply the skills learned in class and to gain real-world experience.
