They need to go ahead and put some money into putting in turf if they want to keep up with everyone else on this side of Corpus and the county. Odem just announced they are building a new stadium and Robstown just put in turf. Every time it rains a whole lot at TM and then a game is played on that field, it's shot for the whole season. They don't have a grounds crew like Alice who takes care of the grass 365 days of they year. Heck they only replaced the lights and goal posts in 2005 because one of the goal posts fell and almost hit a kid. They had not even maintained them since installing them in 1985. That field has been destroyed every year, and they don't properly fix it. I agree they need to put turf, but that community almost voted down the storm shelter because of tax increases. They voted down a technology and campus upgrade multiple times, so teachers and admin used grants to get things done. They did barely pass the upgraded face-lift the high school got most recently, so maybe they'll finally agree to stadium upgrades. Chino, just because the supt. is from Houston doesn't mean they know about this guy or that it was a good hire. That would be like saying hiring a supt. from Dallas and a coach from tremble tech is a good hire... I want TM and this dude to do well, but history and other factors point to it not being a good hire... I was in a meeting with your super this last Monday. He's different. He has a plan and knows what he's doing.

Your new superintendent is from the Houston area so he might know a thing or 2 about the hire that you don't. I see T-M not just fighting to stay out of the basement with this new hire. T-M will be legit. I agree Pico. Besides, with today's cost of upkeep and maintaining of a natural grass field they would be spending less money in the long run by investing in a turf grass field.

T-M was losing consistently under the 2 coaches you just raved about and not even in a beast area of the state like Katy Seven Lakes. Soooooooo, maybe just give the dude a chance. Yes they were, but their play was improving. To hire a guy that spent 19 years losing, that's hard to buy into their "vision" to make a program win. TM is known for that. Williams was an assistant at TM and Carroll, they hired him over Brent Davis who then went to Alice, because Davis was going to cost more to hire. Then they brought in Sandejar from United South and he ran a circus there, then Boone started fixing things and Miller kept fixing. Now they hire a questionable hire... I remember that for a fact the tried to come back to South Texas when he applied for the T-M job & Kingsville but they brought back Coach Whit for one more season in Kingsville.
